07 persons arrested while consuming liquor at public place under special drive

        In continuation of a special drive against consuming liquor at public place, yesterday, the drive was carried out in different parts of the city. Under this drive total 07 different cases U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered in different police stations of Chandigarh in which total 07 persons were arrested while consuming liquor at public place. All later on bailed out. The detail of police Stations in which cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 got registered:- PS-17= 01 case, PS-Sarangpur= 01 case, PS-Manimajra= 02 cases, PS- 49= 1 case, PS-36= 02 cases.

Action against Gambling/Satta

          Chandigarh Police arrested Sanjeev R/o # 8806, Sunny Enclave, Kharar, Distt.- Mohali, Punjab, Ravi Rana R/o # 1612, Sector- 51, Chandigarh, Kamal R/o # 333/1, Village- Behlana, Chandigarh, Manoj R/o # 2666, Sector- 52, Chandigarh and Dilbar Singh R/o # 1829, Village- Burail, Chandigarh while they were gambling near S.D Mandir, Sector- 45, Chandigarh on 22.06.2019. Total cash Rs. 30,220/- was recovered from their possession. In this regard, a case FIR No. 160, U/S 13-3-67 Gambling Act has been registered in PS-34, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

One arrested for Robbery

Shyam Sunder R/o SCO No. 393, Guru Nanak Sweets, Sector- 44/D, Chandigarh reported that 03 unknown persons sped away after robbed away complainant’s cash Rs. 220/- , 01 mobile phone and aadhar card from near Laxmi Narayan Mandir, Sector- 44, Chandigarh on 22.06.2019. A case FIR No. 158, U/S 397, 34 added 411 IPC has been registered in PS-34, Chandigarh. Later on 01 person namely Arun Kumar R/o # 1897, Sector- 45, Chandigarh (age- 26 yrs) has been arrested in this case. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Action against violation of orders of DM, UT, Chandigarh & harbouring Offender

A case FIR No. 186, U/S 188, 212 IPC has been registered in PS-31, Chandigarh against Sunil Gupta R/o # 1352, Deep Complex, Village- Hallo Majra, Chandigarh who rented out the said house to the wanted criminals of Punjab Police namely Gurbhej Singh and Vinod Kumar and also not provide information to local Police and violated the orders U/S 144 Cr.P.C of DM, UT, Chandigarh. Accused arrested and later bailed out.

Burglary

Ajay Partap R/o # 51, Sector- 48/C, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away 01 laptop, cash Rs. 30,000/- and some cheques from complainant’s shop Toy Zone, SCO No. 1008-1009, Sector- 22/B, Chandigarh on night intervening 21/22.06.2019. A case FIR No. 183, U/S 380, 457 IPC has been registered in PS-17, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Salim Khan R/o # 934, Charan Singh Colony, Mauli Complex, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away cash Rs. 2,70,000/- keys of shop & activa scooter, 01 mobile phone and some jewellery from complainant’s residence on night intervening 21/22.06.2019. A case FIR No. 108, U/S 380, 457 IPC has been registered in PS-Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Anil Kumar R/o # 548, Sector- 7, Distt.- Panchkula, Haryana reported that unknown person tried to commit theft at Booth No. 59, Om General Store, Sector- 31 market after breaking locks on night intervening 21/22.06.2019. A case FIR No. 185, U/S 380, 457, 511 IPC has been registered in PS-31, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Eve-teasing

A girl alleged that 02 unknown persons who eve-teased and misbehaved with complainant at Para Night Club, Centra Mall, Phase-1, Indst. Area, Chandigarh on night intervening 21/22.06.2019. A case FIR No. 147, U/S 354, 509, 34 IPC has been registered in PS-Indst. Area, Chandigarh.  Investigation of the case is in progress.

Dowry

A lady resident of Chandigarh alleged that her husband & others resident of New Delhi harassed complainant to bring more dowry. A case FIR No. 76, U/S 406, 498-A IPC has been registered in PS-Women, Chandigarh. Investigation of case is in progress.
