22 persons arrested while consuming liquor at public place under special drive

        In continuation of a special drive against consuming liquor at public place, yesterday, the drive was carried out in different parts of the city. Under this drive total 22 different cases U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered in different police stations of Chandigarh in which total 22 persons were arrested while consuming liquor at public   place. All later on bailed out. The detail of police Stations in which cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 got registered:-PS-11= 01 case, PS-17= 03 cases, PS- 19= 01 case, PS-Ind. Area= 02 cases, PS-Manimajra= 02 cases, PS-IT Park= 02 cases, PS- Mauli Jagran= 02 cases, PS-31= 01 case, PS- 34= 2 cases, PS-36= 04 cases, PS-39 = 02 cases.

One arrested under NDPS Act

Chandigarh Police arrested Vishal @ Guddu R/o # 719/18, BDC, Sector- 26, Chandigarh from near TPT Light Point, Chandigarh, and recovered 05 gram heroin from his possession on 16.06.2019. A case FIR No. 135, U/S 21 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-26, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Theft

Amit Bhandari R/o # 358, Sector- 20/A, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’s bicycle while parked near Sindhi Sweets, Sector- 8, Chandigarh on 10.06.2019. A case FIR No. 174, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-03, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Karamjit Singh R/o Village- Durali, Distt.- Mohali, Punjab reported that unknown person stolen away batteries from complainant’s tractors No. PB-08TG-8136 and PB-65Z-7043 while parked near Jaganath Mandir, Sector- 31/D, Chandigarh on night intervening 15/16.06.2019. A case FIR No. 180, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-31, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Accident

        A case FIR No. 179, U/S 279, 337 added 304/A IPC has been registered in PS-31, Chandigarh on the statement of HC. Gursewak Singh 80/CP who alleged that unknown driver of car who sped away after hitting to activa scooter No. CH-04C-0585 slip road, near Sampark Centre, Sector- 47, Chandigarh on 16.06.2019. Driver of activa scooter namely Balram R/o # 3341, Sector- 47/D, Chandigarh got injured and admitted in GMCH- 32, Chandigarh where he expired during treatment. Investigation of the case is in progress.
