06 persons arrested while consuming liquor at public place under special drive

        In continuation of a special drive against consuming liquor at public place, yesterday, the drive was carried out in different parts of the city. Under this drive total 05 different cases U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered in different police stations of Chandigarh in which total 06 persons were arrested while consuming liquor at public   place. All later on bailed out. The detail of police Stations in which cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 got registered:-PS-03= 02 cases, PS-IT Park= 02 cases, PS-39= 01 case.

This drive will be continuing in future, the general public is requested for not breaking the law.

One arrested under NDPS Act

Crime Branch of Chandigarh Police arrested a lady resident of Sector- 25, Chandigarh from near Electricity Bridge No. 14, Dhanas Bridge towards Maloya Dumping Ground road, Chandigarh and recovered 10 gram heroin from her possession on 10.06.2019. A case FIR No. 80, U/S 21 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-Maloya, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Two arrested for possessing illegal liquor

Chandigarh Police arrested Harinder Singh R/o village- Sidhwan Kala, PS- Jagraon, Distt.- Ludhiana, Punjab (age- 42 yrs) from near gate No. 3, Police Lines, Sector- 26, Chandigarh while he illegally possessing 50 boxes (600 bottles) of country made liquor carried in white Innova Car No. PB-11CB-7951 on 10.06.2019. A case FIR No. 128, U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-26, Chandigarh. Later he bailed out. Innova car also taken into Police possession. Investigation of the case is in progress. 

Chandigarh Police arrested Vikram R/o # 1390, Phase-1, Ramdarbar, Chandigarh (age- 25 yrs) from Kacha Rasta Ram Darbar to Poultry Farm Chowk, Chandigarh while he illegally possessing 03 boxes (144 quarters) of country made liquor carried on activa scooter No. CH-01Z-6256 on 10.06.2019. A case FIR No. 174, U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-31, Chandigarh. Later he bailed out. Activa Scooter also taken into Police possession. Investigation of the case is in progress.

One arrested for Theft

A case FIR No. 82, U/S 380 added 411 IPC has been registered in PS-Manimajra, Chandigarh on the complaint of Chunni Lal R/o # 6362/A, Rajiv Vihar, MHC, Manimajra, Chandigarh against unknown person stolen away Rs. 5,00,000/- from complainant’s residence on 10.06.2019. Later on 01 person namely Akash R/o # 2259, NIC, Manimajra, Chandigarh (age- 19 yrs) has been arrested in this case and recovered Rs. 2,52,000/- from his possession. Investigation of the case is in progress.

MV Theft

Sandeep Singh R/o # 472, Block-7, Naya Gaon, Village- Nada, Distt.- Mohali, Punjab reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’s activa scooter No. CH-01BF-5173 while parked near fish market, Shastri Nagar, Manimajra, Chandigarh on 05.06.2019. A case FIR No.120, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS- IT Park, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Accident

        A case FIR No. 127, U/S 279, 337 & 304-A IPC has been registered in PS-26, Chandigarh on the statement of Vikas Dutta R/o Plot No. 35, Electronics Complex Chamba Ghat, Distt.- Solan, HP who alleged that driver of truck No. PB-12T-5082 who sped away after hitting to a pedestrian person near TPT Light Point, Chandigarh on 10.06.2019. Pedestrian person namely Sudama Yadav R/o # 1446/2, Sector- 23, Chandigarh got injured and admitted in PGI, Chandigarh where he expired during treatment. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Assault

A case FIR No. 142, U/S 324, 325, 34 IPC has been registered in PS-34, Chandigarh on the complaint of a lady resident of Village- Burail, Chandigarh who alleged that Anju, Shahni and Sonu R/o # 678, Village- Burail, Chandigarh all beaten complainant at her residence on 09.06.2019. Complainant got injured and taken to GMCH- 32, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
