Special drive against consuming liquor at public place was carried out at different parts of the city in which total 07 cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered.

 In continuation of a special drive against consuming liquor at public place, yesterday, the drive was carried out at different parts of the city. Under this drive total 07 different cases U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered in different police stations of Chandigarh in which total 08 persons were arrested while consuming liquor at public   place. All later on bailed out. The detail of police Stations in which cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 got registered:- PS-03= 1 case, PS-11 = 1 case, PS-17 = 4 case, PS-19 = 1 case.

This drive will be continuing in future, the general public is requested for not breaking the law.

Two arrested under NDPS Act

Chandigarh Police arrested Pankaj Kumar R/o # 1094, Phase-2, Ramdar, Chandigarh from slip road near BSNL Turn, Phase-2, Industrial Area, Chandigarh and recovered 2 gram Heroine from his possession on 16.03.2019. A case FIR No. 98, U/S 21 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-31, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Chandigarh Police arrested Vimal Kumar R/o # 257, Village- Hallomajra, Chandigarh from slip road near Hallomajra Chowk, Chandigarh and recovered 10 gram Heroine from his possession on 16.03.2019. A case FIR No. 99, U/S 21 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-31, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Four arrested for possessing illegal liquor

Chandigarh Police arrested Pardeep @ Deep R/o Village- Khokhar, Chamkaur Sahib, Punjab from near BSNL Turn, Manimajra, Chandigarh while illegally possessing 24 bottles of English wine on 16.03.2019. A case FIR No. 38, U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-Manimajra, Chandigarh. Accused arrested and bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Chandigarh Police arrested Yoginder R/o # 1563, Mauli Jagran Complex, Chandigarh near Atta Chakki, village Mauli Jagran turn, Chandigarh while illegally possessing 196 quarters of country made liquor on activa scooter No. CH-01BD-3189 on 16.03.2019. A case FIR No. 45, U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh. Accused arrested and bailed out. Activa scooter taken into Police possession. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Chandigarh Police arrested Satpal R/o # 992, Phase-1, Ramdarbar, Chandigarh from near Govt. High School, Phase-1, Ramdarbar, Chandigarh while illegally possessing 15 quarters of quarters of country made liquor on 16.03.2019. A case FIR No. 96, U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-31, Chandigarh. Accused arrested and bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Chandigarh Police arrested Ravi Kumar R/o # 10, Indra Niwas, Phase-1, Ramdarbar, Chandigarh from near iron bridge, Village- Faida, Chandigarh while illegally possessing 15 quarters of quarters of country made liquor on 16.03.2019. A case FIR No. 97, U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-31, Chandigarh. Accused arrested and bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

One arrested for Burglary

Ankush Kumar R/o # 703, Village- Hallomajra, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away 01 laptop and mobile phone from complainant’s residence after breaking lock in between 02.03.2019 to 16.03.2019. A case FIR No. 95, U/S 380, 457 added 411 IPC has been registered in PS-31 Chandigarh. Later one accused person namely Amit Kumar @ Bich ki Mang R/o # 485, Village- Hallomajra, Chandigarh (age-20 yrs) has been arrested in this case. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Accident

A case FIR No. 92, U/S 279, 337 IPC has been registered in PS-03, Chandigarh on the complaint of Karan Sodhi R/o # 1528, Sector-11/D, Chandigarh against driver of car No. CH-01AU-5902 namely Kuldeep R/o # 56, Bhainsa Tibba, MDC, Sector-4, Distt.-Panchkula, Haryana who hit to complainant’s M/Cycle No. UK-07BJ-4830 near sector-10/16 dividing road, Chandigarh on 16.03.2019. Complainant got injured and admitted in GH-16, Chandigarh. Car driver arrested and later bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

MV Theft

          Padamdeep Singh R/o # 3413, Sector-71, Distt.-Mohali, Punjab reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’s Bullet M/Cycle No. PB-65K-4590 while parked near S.D College, Sector-32, Chandigarh on 06.03.2019. A case FIR No. 68, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-34, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Snatching

A lady resident of sector-35/D, Chandigarh reported that unknown person occupant of Motor Cycle snatched away complainant’s purse containing 1 mobile phone, some documents and cash Rs. 1,000/- from near # 2406, Sector-35/C on 16.03.2019. A case FIR No. 60, U/S 379, 356 IPC has been registered in PS-36, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Theft

Ajit Singh R/o # 1005, Sector-41/B, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’s son Bicycle from near SCO No. 30, Sector-40, Chandigarh on 16.03.2019. A case FIR No. 69 U/s 379 IPC has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Quarrel/Assault

Harwinder Singh R/o Village- Khijargarh, Distt.-Mohali, Punjab alleged that Pappu R/o # 1112, Ramdarbar, Chandigarh attacked on complainant with knife at market, Sector-43, Chandigarh on 16.03.2019. Complainant’s got injured and admitted in GMCH-32, Chandigarh for treatment. In this regard, a case FIR No. 59, U/S 323, 341 IPC has been registered in PS-36, Chandigarh. Later accused person namely Pappu has been arrested in this case. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A case FIR No. 50, U/S 341, 323, 506 IPC has been registered in PS-11, Chandigarh on the complaint of Rakesh Kumar R/o # 22, Khuda Jassu, Chandigarh who alleged that Vijay & 3 others beaten complainant with sticks near Verka booth, PGI Campus, Chandigarh on 16.03.2019. Complainant’s got injured and admitted in PGI, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
