Day 3 of National Workshop on Education

On the third day of National workshop on Inclusion: Making it Happen, Prof. Sudesh Mukhopadhyay, formerly: Chairperson of Rehabilitation Council of India, Head Dept. of inclusive Education NUEPA, Director, SCERT Delhi, explained various models of inclusion. She mentioned that teaching learning will be effective if a child will have the feeling of belongingness.
Prof. Latika Sharma, coordinator CALEM and Chairperson, Department of Education, Panjab University, Chandigarh chaired the session.
Prof. Virendra Kumar, Professor Emeritus, Faculty of Law, PU, Chandigarh delivered a discursive dialogue on Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya, National mission for teachers and training deliberated upon the RTE Act,2009. The introduction of ‘no screening’ provision has led to devising of admission process of ‘draw of lots’ or purely on the basis of ‘first come first served’ for initial admission of children to schools.
Dr. Wasim Ahmad, Assistant Professor, GRIID, sector 31, Chandigarh explained the Universal Design of Learning. Prof. Raj K. Gupta, Department of Education, Panjab University, Chandigarh chaired the session. Dr. J.S. Jayara, Principal, School for Blind, Sector 31, Chandigarh. Dr. Reema Bansal, Assistant Professor, Rajiv Gandhi Government College, Saha, Dr. B. Aggarwal, Guest faculty, CED, Panjab University, Chandigarh and Mr. Himanshu, teacher in Kendriya Vidyalaya voiced their lived experiences.
