Prof Ashish Jain assumes charge of IQAC Director, PU

Prof Ashish Jain assumes charge of IQAC Director, PU. Dr Ashish Jain, professor and head of the department of Periodontology at Panjab University Dental Institute has been appointed as new Director of IQAC at 
Panjab University. Dr Jain takes over from Prof Rajiv Lochan who has completed his three year tenure. The university had sought applications from the professors of the university for this important assignment and after a thorough peer scrutiny , Dr Jain’s name was finalized for this post.
Dr Jain had been the Principal of the the dental institute at the university for six years and is credited with the starting of MDS courses in six specialties. He is a post graduate of Nair Dental Hospital, Mumbai. Dr Jain has done double post-docs from Harvard University and Boston University. He has rich International experience being adjunct faculty at Forsyth Institute and Tufts University,USA.
The post of Director, IQAC is crucial for the university at this time, since it is struggling to retain its premiere position in various national and international rankings. Dr Jain said that while he is humbled at this honor, at the same time he is determined to work with all stakeholders of the university to ensure that ‘Quantifiable Quality’ becomes the language in the university. He said that he shall immediately initiate discussions with all the organs of the university to draw an all inclusive implementable and practical plan to get the university at the pinnacle of the rankings and otherwise.
