Special drive against consuming liquor at public place was carried out at different parts of the city in which total 03 cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered.

 In continuation of a special drive against consuming liquor at public place, yesterday, the drive was carried out at different parts of the city. Under this drive total 03 different cases U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered in different police stations of Chandigarh in which total 04 persons were arrested while consuming liquor at public place. All later on bailed out. The detail of police Stations in which cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 got registered:-  PS-3 = 1 case, PS-39= 2 cases.

This drive will be continuing in future, the general public is requested for not breaking the law.

One arrested under NDPS Act

Chandigarh Police arrested Mahinder Singh R/o # 594, Sector-38/A, Chandigarh from near Parjapati Bhawan, Sector-38/A, Chandigarh and recovered 07 gram Smack from his possession on 14.02.2019. A case FIR No. 33, U/S 21 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Action against Gambling/Satta

Chandigarh Police arrested Sham Bahadur R/o # 460, NIC, Manimajra, Chandigarh while he was playing satta near booth No.25/26, NIC market, Manimajra, Chandigarh on 14.02.2019. Total cash Rs. 1,150/- was recovered from him. In this regard, a case FIR No. 37, U/S 13A-3-67 Gambling Act has been registered in PS-I.T Park, Chandigarh. Later he was released on bail. Investigation of the case is in progress.

One apprehended with fake number on Motor Cycle

Chandigarh Police arrested Birjesh R/o Jhuggi No. 3288, Sector-25, Chandigarh from T-Point near Govt. toilet, Sector-25, Chandigarh while he was using fake Registration number CH-01AR-0214 on black pulsar Motor Cycle (original No. is HP-55A-2181). A case FIR No. 26, U/S 473 IPC has been registered in PS-11, Chandigarh. Accused arrested and bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Snatching

Ravinder Yadav R/o # 265, Mauli Jagran, Part-2, Chandigarh alleged that 2 unknown persons occupant of M/Cycle sped away after snatching his mobile phone and cash Rs. 9,000/- from near Kali Bari Light point, Chandigarh on 13.02.2019. A case FIR No. 60, U/S 356, 379 IPC has been registered in PS-31, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Burglary

Sonu R/o # 2281/B, SBI Colony, Sector-42, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away cash Rs. 3,500/-, credit card, bank pass book after breaking locks from complainant’s residence on 14.02.2018. A case FIR No. 44, U/S 454, 380 IPC has been registered in PS-36, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Attempt to murder/Arms Act

        A case FIR No. 16, U/S 307, 323, 341, 506, 34 IPC & 25-54-59 Arms Act has been registered in PS-49, Chandigarh on the complaint of Tarsem Jain R/o # 15/B, Mount Kailash Colony, Gazipur road, Zirakpur, Punjab who alleged that 2 unknown persons occupant of creta car beaten him with iron rods and also threatened complainant by showing pistol near Rajdhani Society, Sector-49/B, Chandigarh on 13.02.2019. Complainant got injured and admitted in GMCH-32, Chandigarh. Later on one person namely Sandeep R/o # 2247-48, Sector-15, Housing Board Colony, Distt.-Sonipat, Haryana (present address) & permanent address R/o village-Bhatgaon, Distt.-Sonipat, Haryana has been arrested in this case. Investigation of the case is in progress.
