        A one day NSS  training workshop was conducted in Department of Social work,  Panjab University Chandigarh. 
        The workshop was inaugurated by Prof. Shankarji Jha, Dean of University Instructions and officiating Vice Chancellor, Panjab University. He congratulated the NSS team for their  community uplifting activities, and motivated them to continue working with their selfless work spirit in future also. 
        Prof. Karamjeet Singh, Registrar, PU in his key note address highlighted the importance of spirituality in thoughts, words and actions of each one of the individuals. 
        Prof. Shivani Sharma, Swachta Abhiyaan Coordinator in her address suggested that PU has to come up with its environmental policy and NSS team along with department of environmental sciences can take the initiative of preparation of draft policy.  
        Prof. Sanjay Kaushik, Dean College Development Council, while complementing the NSS team for their continuous efforts towards creating healthy minds, healthy attitudes and healthy bodies amongst students, gave a suggestion to include traffic management in university as a part of NSS curriculum.  
        Mr. Vikram Nayyar, Finance & Development Officer gave a presentation on the importance of planning all the NSS activities as well defined projects and various options to get funding for these projects.
        Prof. Navdeep Sharma, NSS programme coordinator, read the annual report of NSS  and apprised the dignitaries of all the awards and accolades won by NSS volunteers as well as the planned activity schedule for next academic year.  
        The workshop was attended by all the programme officers of Panjab University along with the NSS volunteers.
