Special drive against consuming liquor at public place was carried out at different parts of the city in which total 02 cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered.

          In continuation of a special drive against consuming liquor at public place, yesterday, the drive was carried out at different parts of the city. Under this drive total 02 different cases U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered in different police stations of Chandigarh in which total 02 persons were arrested while consuming liquor at public  place. Both later on bailed out. The detail of police Stations in which cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 got registered:- PS-IT Park= 1 case, PS-49 = 1 case. This drive will be continuing in future, the general public is requested for not breaking the law.

Action against Gambling/Satta

Chandigarh Police arrested Rakesh Kumar R/o # 1012, EWS Colony, Village-Dhanas, Chandigarh, Rajesh Kumar R/o # 907/C, EWS Colony, Village-Dhanas, Chandigarh and Jitender R/o # 816/C, EWS Colony, Village-Dhanas, Chandigarh while they were gambling at Masjid Ground, EWS Colony, Dhanas Park, Village-Dhanas, Chandigarh on 14.01.2019. Total cash Rs. 4,200/- and playing cards were recovered from them. In this regard, a case FIR No. 12, U/S 13-3-67 Gambling Act has been registered in PS-Sarangpur, Chandigarh. Later they were released on bail. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Theft

          A lady resident of Sector-11, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away silver kids bangle, gold chain, pair of tops, silver utensils, hang bag, black suitcase and cash Rs. 10,000/- from complainant residence after breaking locks on 13.01.2019. A case FIR No. 09, U/S 380, 457 IPC has been registered in PS-11, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Durgesh Tiwari R/o Cremation Ground, Manimajra, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away Aadhar card copy, Voter card copy and some cash from donation box from Cremation ground, Manimjara, Chandigarh on 14.01.2019. A case FIR No. 08, U/S 380 IPC has been registered in PS-Manimajra, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Raj Kumar R/o # 1413, Deep Complex, Village-Hallomajra, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away 02 mobile phones and cash Rs. 25,000/- from complainant’s residence on night intervening dated 13/14.01.2019. A case FIR No. 15, U/S 380 IPC has been registered in PS-31, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A lady resident of Distt.-Kangra, Himachal Pradesh reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’s bag gold chain, ear rings, Dell laptop and some documents from counter No.6, ISBT-43, Chandigarh on 14.01.2019. A case FIR No. 20, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-36, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Naresh R/o # 1375/A, Sector-39/B, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away 01 briefcase containing gold necklace, 01 pair earrings, silver anklets, silver ring, some documents and cash Rs. 60,000/- from complainant’s residence on dated 14.01.2019. A case FIR No. 12, U/S 380 IPC has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Mohd. Kaleem Khan R/o # 3753, Maloya Colony, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away 01 laptop and some cash from complainant’s residence after breaking locks on dated 10.01.2019 to 14.01.2019. A case FIR No. 04, U/S 380, 457 IPC has been registered in PS-Maloya, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Accident

A case FIR No. 05, U/S 279, 337, 304A IPC has been registered in PS-49, Chandigarh on the statement of Constable Preetam, PS-49, Chandigarh who alleged that driver of tempo traveller No. PB-01A-7552 namely Bahadur Singh R/o Village-Garhi Mation, Distt.-Hoshiarpur, hit to motor cycle No. PB-65C-4947 near sector 45/46/49/50 light point, Chandigarh on 14.01.2019. Driver namely Gambhir Prasad R/o Village- Pujurgsan, Distt.-Tehri Garhwal, Uttrakhand and pillion rider namely Davinder R/o # 38, Bhattu Sain, Kopvalli Nagini, Distt.-Tehri Garhwal, Uttrakhand got injured and admitted in GMCH-32, Chandigarh where doctor declared Gambhir brought dead and Davinder expired during treatment. Driver of tempo traveler namely Bahadur Singh has been arrested in this case. Investigation of the case is in progress.

MV Theft

          Naginder Prasad R/o # 563/C, EWS Colony, village-Dhanas, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’s Splendor M/Cycle No. CH-01AU-7634 while parked near # 2038, EWS Colony, village-Dhanas, Chandigarh on 13.01.2019. A case FIR No. 11, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-Sarangpur, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

          Chaman Lal R/o # 726/5, BDC, Sector-26, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’s activa scooter No. CH-01AB-4114 while parked at Nehru Park Parking, Sector-22, Chandigarh on 13.01.2019. A case FIR No. 15, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-17, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
