Special drive against consuming liquor at public place was carried out at different parts of the city in which total 07 cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered.

          In continuation of a special drive against consuming liquor at public place, yesterday, the drive was carried out at different parts of the city. Under this drive total 07 different cases U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered in different police stations of Chandigarh in which total 10 persons were arrested while consuming liquor at public   place. All later on bailed out. The detail of police Stations in which cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 got registered:- PS-IT Park= 2 cases, PS-Mauli Jagran = 1 case, PS-34= 1 case, PS-36= 1 case, PS-39= 2 cases.

This drive will be continuing in future, the general public is requested for not breaking the law.

One arrested under NDPS Act

Crime Branch of Chandigarh Police arrested Harish @ Abdul R/o # 1509, Tin Colony, Sector-52, Chandigarh near Govt. College, Sector-42, Chandigarh and recovered 20 injections of drugs from his possession on 05.01.2019. A case FIR No. 06, U/S 22 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-36, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Action against Gambling/Satta

Chandigarh Police arrested Rajkumar R/o # 714/15, BDC, Sector-26, Chandigarh while he was gambling near Plot No.1, TPT Area, Sector-26, Chandigarh on 05.01.2019. Total cash Rs. 730/- was recovered from his possession. In this regard, a case FIR No. 04, U/S 13A-3-67 Gambling Act has been registered in PS-26, Chandigarh. Later he was released on bail. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Theft

          Lokesh Kumar R/o VPO Nagar Fort, Distt.-Tonk, Rajasthan reported that unknown person stolen away 02 laptops and some documents from ISBT, Sector-17, Chandigarh on 05.01.2019. A case FIR No. 05, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-17, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Dr. Vikas Sharma R/o # 1747, Phase-5, Distt.-Mohali, Punjab reported that unknown person stolen away 02 laptops, 01 tab and bag containing documents after breaking rear window pane of complainant’s car No. CH-01AZ-8017 while parked in parking beside Piccadilly mall, Sector-34, Chandigarh on 05.01.2019. A case FIR No. 06, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-34, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Accident

A case FIR No. 02, U/S 279, 337 IPC has been registered in PS-Ind. Area, Chandigarh on the complaint of Vol. Swaran Singh against driver of Honda City car No. PB-11BC-0043 who struck with wall of Bhushan Factory, Phase-1, Ind. Area, Chandigarh near HDFC Bank, Phase-1, Ind. Area, Chandigarh on 05.01.2019. 04 persons got injured and were admitted in GMCH-32, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A case FIR No. 03, U/S 279, 337 IPC has been registered in PS-Ind. Area, Chandigarh on the complaint of Shenky R/o # 86, Village- Daria, Chandigarh against driver of car No. PB-01B-6247 namely Kartik Chandel R/o Village-Kalol, Distt.-Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh who hit to complainant’s auto No. CH-01TB-9157 near TPT light point Phase-1, Ind. Area, Chandigarh on 03.01.2019. Complainant got injured and was admitted in GMCH-32, Chandigarh. Accused person namely Kartik Chandel has been arrested in this case. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Murder

A case FIR No. 04, U/S 302 IPC has been registered in PS-11, Chandigarh against unknown person who murdered a person namely Ghansham R/o Village-Alawalpur, Tehsil-Barara, Distt.-Ambala, Haryana near 66 KV Sub Station, PGI, Sector-12, Chandigarh on 05.01.2019. Investigation of the case is going on.

MV Theft

          Manpreet Singh R/o # 1117, Govindpura, manimajra, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’s Bullet Motor Cycle No. CH-04A-2076 from parking near Student centre, Punjab University, Chandigarh in between 24.12.2018 to 04.01.2019. A case FIR No. 03, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-11, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

          Surinder Singh Grewal R/o # 114, Sector-46/A, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’s Honda City car No. CH-04B-4722 while parked in front of his residence on night intervening 31.12.2018/01.01.2019. A case FIR No. 05, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-34, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.   

Parneet R/o # 3096/B, Sector-39/D, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’s Bullet Motor Cycle No. PB-04Z-9100 while parked in front of his residence on 25.12.2018. A case FIR No. 05, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress. 

Dowry

A lady resident of Kharar, SAS Nagar, Punjab alleged that her husband resident of Sector-40/C, Chandigarh harassed complainant’s to bring more dowry. A case FIR No. 16, U/S 406, 498-A IPC has been registered in PS-Women, Chandigarh. Investigation of case is in progress.

A lady resident of Sector-49/D, Chandigarh alleged that her husband resident of Sector-49/D, Chandigarh harassed complainant’s to bring more dowry. A case FIR No. 17, U/S 406, 498-A IPC has been registered in PS-Women, Chandigarh. Investigation of case is in progress.

A lady resident of Village-Dhanas, Chandigarh alleged that her husband resident of Distt.-Mandi, Himachal Pradesh harassed complainant’s to bring more dowry. A case FIR No. 18, U/S 498-A IPC has been registered in PS-Women, Chandigarh. Investigation of case is in progress.

Cheating

          Sunil Jand R/o # 232, Sector-46, Chandigarh alleged that Mrs. Dipali Patel, Mrs. Christina Shulz, Mr. Adams cheated Rs. 37,00,000/- from complainant regarding sale/purchase of herbal seeds. A case FIR No. 05, U/S 420, 120B IPC & 66 IT Act has been registered in PS-34, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Action against violation of orders of DM, UT, Chandigarh

A case FIR No. 03, U/S 188 IPC has been registered in PS-31, Chandigarh against Mohhamad Aftab R/o Jhuggi No.1408, Village-Faidan, Chandigarh who rent out his residence without any information to local police and violated the orders U/S 144 Cr.P.C of DM, UT, Chandigarh. Accused person arrested in this case. Later he bailed out.
