Special drive against consuming liquor at public place was carried out at different parts of the city in which total 09 cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered.

 In continuation of a special drive against consuming liquor at public place, yesterday, the drive was carried out at different parts of the city. Under this drive total 09 different cases U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered in different police stations of Chandigarh in which total 12 persons were arrested while consuming liquor at public   place. All later on bailed out. The detail of police Stations in which cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 got registered:- PS-3= 2 cases, PS-17 = 1 case, PS-19= 1 case, PS-Ind. Area = 1 case, PS-Manimajra= 1 case, PS-I.T Park = 1 case, PS- Mauli Jagran = 1 case, PS-34 = 1 case.

This drive will be continuing in future, the general public is requested for not breaking the law.

Action against Gambling/Satta

Chandigarh Police arrested Ganga Singh R/o # 126, EWS Colony, Village-Dhanas, Chandigarh and Chotta Lal R/o # 1285, EWS Colony, Village-Dhanas, Chandigarh while they were gambling near # 893, EWS colony, Village-Dhanas, Chandigarh on 31.12.2018. Total cash Rs. 4,600/- was recovered from them. In this regard, a case FIR No. 01, U/S 13A-3-67 Gambling Act has been registered in PS-Sarangpur, Chandigarh. Later they were released on bail. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Chandigarh Police arrested Vipin R/o # 306, Pipli Wala Town, Manimajra, Chandigarh while he was gambling at Phase-1, BDC, Chandigarh on 31.12.2018. Total cash Rs. 1,040/- was recovered from his possession. In this regard, a case FIR No. 01, U/S 13A-3-67 Gambling Act has been registered in PS-26, Chandigarh. Later he was released on bail. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Action against violation of orders of DM, UT, Chandigarh

A case FIR No. 02, U/S 188 IPC has been registered in PS-26, Chandigarh against Jimmy R/o # 539, Sector-7, Chandigarh and Lalit Mehta R/o # 236, Distt.-Fatehabad, Haryana who were running an Hotel Breach N Brew at SCO No. 61, Madhya Marg, Sector-26, Chandigarh without any permission and violated the orders U/S 144 Cr.P.C of DM, UT, Chandigarh. Both accused persons arrested in this case. Later they were bailed out.

Trespassing and assault

Rampal R/o # 1399, Village-Burail, Chandigarh alleged that Sohan Singh R/o # 575, Village-Burail, Chandigarh, Jitender Singh @ Sunny R/o # 1005, Village-Burail, Chandigarh, Dinesh Kumar R/o # 1575, Village-Burail, Chandigarh and Pratap Rana @ Jonny R/o # 1575, Village-Burail, Chandigarh all entered in his shop and beaten, threatened complainant and his son namely Rajinder Kumar & also thrown his shop articles at shop No.1575/4, Village-Burail, Chandigarh on 31.12.2018. A case FIR No. 01, U/S 452, 448, 427, 323, 341, 147, 149, 506 IPC has been registered in PS-34, Chandigarh. Later all four accused persons arrested in this case. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Quarrel/Assault

Monu R/o # 3841, Sector-56, Chandigarh alleged that Buda, Golu, Varun and Chand beaten to complainant near his residence on 01.01.2019. Complainant’s got injured and admitted in GMCH-16, Chandigarh for treatment. In this regard, a case FIR No. 01, U/S 323, 341, 34 IPC has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Cheating

Shobit R/o # 31/1, Shiv Thakur Dwara Mandir, Manimajra, Chandigarh alleged that 02 unknown persons took away complainant’s mobile phone by cheating from park near Thakur Dwara Mandir, Manimajra, Chandigarh on 01.01.2019. A case FIR No. 02, U/S 406, 420 added 411 IPC has been registered in PS-Manimajra, Chandigarh. Later 02 accused persons namely Varun R/o # 708, Dera Sahib Gurudwara, Manimajra, Chandigarh age-30 yrs and Jaspreet Singh Mehra R/o # 696/1, Dera Sahib Gurudwara, Manimajra, Chandigarh, age-23 yrs have been arrested in this case. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Theft

A case FIR No. 02, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-03, Chandigarh on the complaint of Ankit Gupta R/o # 595, Sector-16, Panchkula, Haryana who alleged that unknown person stolen away complainant’s mobile phone from Chandigarh Club, Sector-1 on 01.01.2019. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Dowry

A lady resident of Burail, Chandigarh alleged that her husband resident of Village- Kharag Mangili, Old Panchkula, Haryana harassed complainant to bring more dowry. A case FIR No. 01, U/S 406, 498-A IPC has been registered in PS-Women, Chandigarh. Investigation of case is in progress.

A lady resident of Sector 38W, Chandigarh alleged that her husband & others all resident of SAS Nagar, Mohali (PB) harassed complainant to bring more dowry. A case FIR No. 02, U/S 406, 498-A IPC has been registered in PS-Women, Chandigarh. Investigation of case is in progress.

A lady resident of Sector 08/C, Chandigarh alleged that her husband resident of Sector-56/A, Chandigarh harassed complainant to bring more dowry. A case FIR No. 03, U/S 498-A IPC has been registered in PS-Women, Chandigarh. Investigation of case is in progress.

A lady resident of Village-Dhanas, Chandigarh alleged that her husband resident of village-Dhanas, Chandigarh harassed complainant to bring more dowry. A case FIR No. 04, U/S 406, 498-A IPC has been registered in PS-Women, Chandigarh. Investigation of case is in progress.

A lady resident of Sector 30/B, Chandigarh alleged that her husband & others all resident of Sector-05, Panchkula, Haryana harassed complainant to bring more dowry. A case FIR No. 05, U/S 406, 498-A IPC has been registered in PS-Women, Chandigarh. Investigation of case is in progress.

A lady resident of Village-Attawa, Sector-42, Chandigarh alleged that her husband & others all resident of Village-Attawa, Chandigarh harassed complainant to bring more dowry. A case FIR No. 06, U/S 406, 498-A IPC has been registered in PS-Women, Chandigarh. Investigation of case is in progress.

Complainant’s got injured and admitted in GMCH-16, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
