First ever ‘Indira Gandhi National Award’ recipient teacher of UT Chandigarh, Mr. Rakesh Dahiya from Government Model Sr. Sec. School, Sector 38 (West)DMC, Chandigarh have been selected for the most prestigious award “ Rashtriya Yuva Gaurav Samman-2018 (National Award)” which will be presented by the Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Statics and Programme Implementation Mr. Vijay Goel Ji, Hon’ble Union Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment Mr. Ramdas Athawale Ji and Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Human Resource Development Dr. Satya Pal Singh Ji on 21st November, 2018 at Andhra Bhawan, New Delhi (Near India Gate).

This prestigious Award will be given away by the Hon’ble Union Ministers during 1st National Youth Awardees Convention ‘Youth for India & Youth Parliament’ organized by the National Youth Awardees Federation of India (Regd. By Govt. of India) to the National Youth Awardees and Indira Gandhi National NSS Awardees of India for their tremendous leadership and outstanding voluntary work rendered in the field of selfless social service to the community.

Rakesh Dahiya is also a recipient of various National & State level awards and recognitions for variety of social awareness and environment awareness activities from esteemed personalities of the country.
