Special drive against consuming liquor at public place was carried out at different parts of the city in which total 04 cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered.
In continuation of a special drive against consuming liquor at public place, yesterday, the drive was carried out at different parts of the city. Under this drive total 04 different cases U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered in different police stations of Chandigarh in which total 04 persons were arrested while consuming liquor at public place. All later on bailed out. The detail of police Stations in which cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 got registered:- PS-11= 1 case, PS-17= 1 case, PS-26= 1 case, PS-IA= 1 case.
This drive will be continuing in future, the general public is requested for not breaking the law.
Action against Gambling
Chandigarh Police arrested Raju, Surinder Kumar, Dinesh & Salim all resident of BDC, Sector 26, Chandigarh while they were gambling near Block No. 731 Road BDC, Sector 26, Chandigarh and recovered cash Rs. 13,200/- from their possession. A case FIR No. 336, U/S 13-3-67 Gambling Act has been registered in PS-26, Chandigarh. Later both were bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.
One arrested under NDPS Act
Chandigarh Police arrested Naveen Katoch R/o # 3274/1, Sector-38/D, Chandigarh from near Ziri Mandi Turn, near Mandir, Village Maloya, Chandigarh and recovered 15 Gm heroin from his possession. A case FIR No. 219, U/S 21 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-Maloya, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
MV Theft
Sh. Prithvi Yuvraj Singh Tenaja R/o # 3820, Sector-22/D, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’s Activa Scooter No. CH-01BH-7367 from CCET College, Sector-26, Chandigarh on 25.10.2018. A case FIR No. 337 U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-26 Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Sh. Deepak R/o # 428, Dera Sahib Mohalla, Mani Majra, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’s M/Cycle No CH-01AR-5110 from parking of Shivalik Garden, Mani Majra, Chandigarh between 19.10.2018 to 25.10.2018. A case FIR No. 428, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-MM, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Sh. Gurmeet Singh R/o # 1763/A, Sector-43/B, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’sM/Cycle No CH-01BA-4006 while parked near his house on 23.10.2018. A case FIR No. 383, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-36, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Causing death by Negligence
A case FIR No. 410, U/S 304-A IPC has been registered in PS-31, Chandigarh against unknown due to whom negligence a person namely Amarnath R/o Sector 49, Chandigarh, age 40 years (Permanent Address: Village Patti Chakeshwar, Distt. Jaunpur, UP) got electrocuted while working near H.No. 2528, Sector 47C, Chandigarh on 26.10.2018. He was admitted in GMCH-32, Chandigarh and later expired in PGI, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Cheating
A case FIR No. 338, U/S 420 IPC & 66-C, 66-D IT Act has been registered in PS-26, Chandigarh on the complaint of Surinder Pal Mahajan R/o # 708, Sector-7, Chandigarh who alleged that unknown person called on mobile phone of complainant and informed that his ATM Card with saving account will be freezed soon as he has not operated the account since long. Caller inquired about ATM card number and OTP sent on mobile number of complainant and withdrawn total Rs. 45,000/- fraudulently. Investigation of the case is in progress.
A case FIR No. 338, U/S 420, 467, 468, 471, 474, 120B IPC has been registered in PS-17, Chandigarh on the complaint of Sumit Saddi R/o # 1437, Sector-23/B, Chandigarh who stated that his mother Smt. Sulakshana Devi is having account in Bank of India, Sector 17, Chandigarh. When complainant visited the bank for updating account book of his mother he came to know that transaction of amount Rs. 53,50,000/- has been made to a person namely Avinash Prajapati through cheque. But the original cheques are lying with complainant’s mother. Investigation of the case is in progress.
