Special drive against consuming liquor at public place was carried out at different parts of the city in which total 14 cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered.

In continuation of a special drive against consuming liquor at public place, yesterday, the drive was carried out at different parts of the city. Under this drive total 14 different cases U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered in different police stations of Chandigarh in which total 19 persons were arrested while consuming liquor at public place. All later on bailed out. The detail of police Stations in which cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 got registered:- PS-03 = 2 cases, PS-11 = 2 cases, PS-17 = 2 cases, PS-SPR = 3 cases, PS-IT Park = 4 cases, PS-36 = 1 case.

This drive will be continuing in future, the general public is requested for not breaking the law.

Besides this a case FIR No. 386 U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh against Bhajan Lal R/o # 2240, Sector-37C, Chandigarh who was arrested near Gurudwara, Sector 37C, Chandigarh and recovered 56 quarters of country liquor from his possession. Later he was bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

One arrested under NDPS Act

Operation Cell of Chandigarh Police arrested Vijay Kumar R/o # 193, Village Daria, Chandigarh near Shamshan Ghat, Daria, Chandigarh and recovered 1.8 Kg Ganja from his possession on 23.09.2018. A case FIR No. 292, U/S 20 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-Ind. Area, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Accident

A case FIR No. 293, U/S 279, 337 IPC has been registered in PS-Ind. Area, Chandigarh on the complaint of Sh. Rikhin Dev R/o # 384, Block-F, Colony No. 4, Chandigarh who alleged that driver of unknown car sped away after hitting tocomplainant’s Auto No. CH01TA-8537 near Kerosene Pump, Sector 29, Chandigarh on 23.09.2018. Complainant got injured and admitted in GH-16, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress
