Prof Raj Kumar is D. Litt., Ph.D, MBA and M.com, having 35 years of teaching and research experience in the areas of Insurance, Capital Market and Entrepreneurship. His special interest arena is contemporary issues like Human Values & Ethics and CSR. He has authored four books and completed six research projects besides contributing many research papers to National and International seminars, conferences and workshops. He has also conducted one refresher course, one Entrepreneurial Development program and 4 QIPs (AICTE). He has been organizing Faculty Development Programmes on Entrepreneurship Development under NIMAT Project of the Department of Science & Technology, Government of India since 2008-09 for creating resource persons for entrepreneurship development. Till date, over 200 faculties/ executives / Entrepreneurs were trained as part of the Project. Prof. Raj Kumar has been serving as an expert member in Panels of AICTE, NAAC and other professional bodies and in selection committees for a number of institutions. He has served as Coordinator of the Technical Cell in the Office of the Vice Chancellor, Banaras Hindu University and as Chief Coordinator of Industry Institute Partnership Cell, IM, BHU besides serving as expert member in Academic Council/ Board of Studies of number of Universities/ Institute. He is the Managing Editor of BHU Management Review – A journal of contemporary management research, and serving as expert member in various Editorial / Advisory board of National and International Journals. Prof Raj Kumar has served as Executive Member of LIC Policy Holder Council and All India Commerce Association.

After taking charges of the Director, Dean and Head of the Institute, Prof. Raj Kumar initiated several innovative steps for expansion and outreach of the institute. These include works on consultancy services, collaborative courses and projects, connecting the institute with different ministries of GOI, Central government agencies, banks & financial institutions and reputed private corporate entities for possible tie-ups. Created Start-up Cell in the institute for encouraging new and innovative ideas. Also initiated efforts to finalize Vision Document of the Institute, establishing Management Park at RGSC, construction of new block with additional class rooms and facilities and strengthening the linkages with different stakeholders.
