Special drive against consuming liquor at public place was carried out at different parts of the city in which total 05 cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered.

 In continuation of a special drive against consuming liquor at public place, yesterday, the drive was carried out at different parts of the city. Under this drive total 05 different cases U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered in different police stations of Chandigarh in which total 07 persons were arrested while consuming liquor at public place. All later on bailed out. The detail of police Stations in which cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 got registered:- PS-03 = 1 case, PS-17 = 1 case, PS-31 = 3 cases.

This drive will be continuing in future, the general public is requested for not breaking the law.

One arrested under NDPS Act

Chandigarh Police arrested Sohan Lal R/o # 1535, Teen Colony, Sector-52, Chandigarh near light point, Sector-61/52, Chandigarh and recovered 880 gram Ganja from his possession. A case FIR No. 228, U/S 20 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-36, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Action against Gambling/Satta

Chandigarh Police arrested Ashok Kumar R/o # 132, Ph-1, BDC, Sector-26, Chandigarh, while he was playing satta near his house and recovered cash Rs. 580/- from his possession. A case FIR No. 193, U/S 13A-3-67 Gambling Act has been registered in PS-26, Chandigarh. Later he bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Hurt & deterred public servant while discharging govt. duty

A case FIR No. 180, U/S 279, 332, 353 IPC & 179 MV Act has been registered in PS-11, Chandigarh on the complaint of HC Ratan Kumar, Traffic Wing, against driver of M/Cycle No HR-33C-1575 who hit to Complainant while discharging his duty at light point, Sector 14/15, Chandigarh on 13.06.2018. Complainant got injured and admitted in GH-16, Chandigarh. Alleged has been arrested in this case. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Theft

Sh. Baldev Raj Khurana R/o # 86, Sector-15/A, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away batteries of complainant’s M/Car No. CH-03P-1508 and other car while parked near his house on night intervening 12/13-06-2018. A case FIR No. 181, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-11, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Dowry

A lady resident of Sector 63, Chandigarh alleged that her husband resident of Baltana, Distt. Mohali (PB) harassed complainant to bring more dowry. A case FIR No. 52, U/S 498-A IPC has been registered in PS-Women, Chandigarh. Investigation of case is in progress.

A lady resident of Dhanas, Chandigarh alleged that her husband resident of Distt. Patiala (PB) harassed complainant to bring more dowry. A case FIR No. 53, U/S 498-A IPC has been registered in PS-Women, Chandigarh. Investigation of case is in progress.

A lady resident of Sector 37, Chandigarh alleged that her husband resident of Khuda-Ali-Sher, Chandigarh harassed complainant to bring more dowry. A case FIR No. 54, U/S 406, 498-A IPC has been registered in PS-Women, Chandigarh. Investigation of case is in progress.

MV Theft

Sh. Manish Kumar R/o # 1176/A, Sector-20/B, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away car No. CH-01BQ-5455 while parked near his residence on the night intervening 10/11-06-2018. A case FIR No. 184, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-19, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Sh. Raj Kishor R/o # 606, Hallo Majra, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away M/Cycle No CH-01AW-2055while parked near his residence on 06-06-2018. A case FIR No. 259, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-31, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Cheating

A case FIR No. 194, U/S 420, 120-B IPC has been registered in PS-17, Chandigarh on the complaint of Dr. Raman Gambhir R/o # 1616, Sector-7/C, Chandigarh who alleged that Dr. Nitender Singh, Gian Sagar Educational and Charitable Trust, Banur, Distt. Mohali (PB) committed fraud with faculty and non faculty staff of institute and issued cheques from account in which he was not authorized signatory. Investigation of the case is in progress.
