Special drive against consuming liquor at public place was carried out at different parts of the city in which total 14 cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered.

 In continuation of a special drive against consuming liquor at public place, yesterday, the drive was carried out at different parts of the city. Under this drive total 14 different cases U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered in different police stations of Chandigarh in which total 14 persons were arrested while consuming liquor at public place. All later on bailed out. The detail of police Stations in which cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 got registered:- PS-03 = 2 cases, PS-17 = 1 case, PS-26 = 1 case, PS-IA = 1 case, PS-MM = 3 cases, PS-IT Park = 2 cases, PS-MJ = 3 cases, PS-39 = 1 case.

This drive will be continuing in future, the general public is requested for not breaking the law.

Action against Gambling

Chandigarh Police arrested Nirmal Singh R/o # 1784, EWS Colony, Dhanas, Chandigarh and Deepak R/o # 1979/C, EWS Colony, Dhanas, Chandigarh while they were gambling at EWS Colony, Dhanas, Chandigarh and recovered cash Rs. 2500/- from their possession. A case FIR No. 156, U/S 13-3-67 Gambling Act has been registered in PS-Sarangpur, Chandigarh. All later on bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

One arrested under NDPS Act

Chandigarh Police arrested Gourav @ Ganja R/o # 1157, Vikas Nagar, Chandigarh near Kacha Rasta, Hallo Majra, Chandigarh and recovered 245 gram Ganja from his possession. A case FIR No. 255, U/S 20 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-31, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Action against illicit liquor

A case FIR No. 225, U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-36, Chandigarh against two unknown persons on motor cycle who ran away after leaving a bag containing 90 bottles of country made liquor near Kissan Bhawan Chowk, Chandigarh on 10.06.2018. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Burglary

Sh. Raj Kamal Singh Atwal R/o # 644, Sector-11/B, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away cash Rs.5,25,000/-, 10-15 tola gold, 100 old silver coins, one cheque book from his house between 07.06.2018 to 09.06.2018. A case FIR No. 179, U/S 380, 457 IPC has been registered in PS-11, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Sh. Shakil Ahmed R/o # 37/B, Sector-44/A, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away cash Rs. 70,000/- and one gold chain from his house on 09.06.2018. A case FIR No. 220, U/S 380, 454 IPC has been registered in PS-34, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Cheating

A case FIR No. 226, U/S 420 IPC & 66-C, 66-D IT Act has been registered in PS-36, Chandigarh on the complaint of a lady resident of Mumbai against Rahul R/o # 3026, HB Colony, Dhanas, Chandigarh who fraudulently transferred/withdrawn Rs. 12 lakh from complainant’s account. Alleged has been arrested in this case. Investigation of the case is in progress.

MV Theft

Sh. Manpal Singh R/o # 653, Village-Daria, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away M/Cycle No CH-03B-6164 while parked at backside of Gurudwara, Sector-28, Chandigarh. A case FIR No. 187, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-26, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
