Special drive against consuming liquor at public place was carried out at different parts of the city in which total 07 cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered.

 In continuation of a special drive against consuming liquor at public place, yesterday, the drive was carried out at different parts of the city. Under this drive total 07 different cases U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered in different police stations of Chandigarh in which total 08 persons were arrested while consuming liquor at public place. All later on bailed out. The detail of police Stations in which cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 got registered:- PS-03 = 1 case, PS-17 = 1 case, PS-MM = 1 case, PS-36 = 2 cases, PS-36 = 2 cases.

This drive will be continuing in future, the general public is requested for not breaking the law.

One apprehended for theft

A girl resident of Punjab University, Chandigarh alleged that someone stolen away complainant’s cycle from parking in front of Boys Hostel No. 3, Punjab University, Sector 14, Chandigarh on 03.06.2018. A case FIR No. 173, U/S 379 added 411 IPC has been registered in PS-11, Chandigarh. Later one boy was apprehended in this case and sent to juvenile home. Investigation of the case is in progress.

One arrested for endangering life and personal safety of others

        A case FIR No. 215, U/S 336 IPC & 25-27-54-59 Arms Act has been registered in PS-34, Chandigarh on the complaint ofAmandeep Singh R/o # 5928, Urban Estate, Patiala (PB) who alleged that Gagandeep Singh R/o Gali No. 1, Baba Banda Singh Colony, Banur (PB) fired bullet near Mortuary, GMCH-32, Chandigarh on 03.06.2018. Gagandeep Singh has been arrested in this case. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Theft

Sh. Shesh Narain R/o # 2679, Vikas Nagar, Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away his one laptop from his auto while parked near Mandi, Mauli Jagran on 01-06-2018. A case FIR No. 153, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

MV Theft

Sh. Ramesh R/o # 3269, Sector-21-D, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away his WagonR car No. CH-03R-6421 while parked near his residence on 03-06-2018. A case FIR No. 169, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-19, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Sh. Rohit R/o # 1834, Sector-15, Panchkula (HR) reported that unknown person stolen away his Splendor M/Cycle No. HR-03L-7883 from MW Market, Phase-1, Ind. Area, Chandigarh on 03-06-2018. A case FIR No. 167, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-Ind. Area, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Sh. Ashwani Kumar R/o # 864/1, Sector 41-A, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away his PB-70C-1376 while parked near his residence on night intervening 31-05/01-06-2018. A case FIR No. 234, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Accident

A case FIR No. 214, U/S 279, 337, 304A IPC has been registered in PS-36, Chandigarh on the complaint of Gurwinder Singh R/o # 3512, Sector-37-D, Chandigarh against driver of car No. HR-02AB-5246 namely Karan Singh R/o # 179, Ward No. 3, Adarsh Colony, Balongi, Distt. Mohali (PB) who hit to three persons namely Gagan Gautam R/o # 41, Ward No. 51, Kurali, Distt. Mohali, (PB) Ayush R/o # 90, Ward No. 6, Kurali, Distt. Mohali (PB) and Om Parkash R/o Room No. 4, Vill.ge Kajheri, Chandigarh near Kisan Bhawan Chowk on 03-06-2018. All got injured and admitted in GH-16, Chandigarh, later referred to PGI, Chandigarh where Gagan Gautam declared dead. Accused arrested and later bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Snatching

A lady resident of Sector-35, Chandigarh reported that unknown persons on Motor Cycle snatched away complainant’s purse containing cash Rs. 450/-, ATM card, documents near H.No. 2179, Sector 35C, Chandigarh on 03.06.2018. A case FIR No. 216, U/S356, 379 IPC has been registered in PS-36, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
