भारत को प्रशिक्षित हेल्थकेयर प्रोफेशनल की अत्यधिक कमी का सामना करना पड़ सकता है : एक्स्पर्ट

गुरुवार को यूनिवर्सिटी इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ  नर्सिंग, चंडीगढ़ यूनिवर्सिटी घड़ूआं में अंतर्राष्ट्रीय नर्स दिवस के अवसर पर आयोजित एक टॉक में 150 से अधिक छात्रों , फैकल्टी और स्टाफ  ने भाग लिया।

टॉक को संबोधित करते हुए, मैक्स अस्पताल में कार्डियोवैस्कुलर थोरैसिक सर्जरी के डायरेक्टर डॉ दीपक पुरी ने कहा कि नर्सें स्वास्थ्य देखभाल प्रबंधन में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाती हैं, फिर भी उनके योगदान आज भी वह महत्व नहीं मिलता जिसकी वे हकदार है।

उन्होंने कहा, दुनिया भर में नर्सों की अत्यधिक कमी है। भारत में 2024 तक 4.3 मिलियन और नर्सों की आवश्यकता होगी, जबकि यह कमी अमेरिका जैसे कई विकसित देशों में भी मौजूद है।
डॉ पुरी ने इस बात पर भी प्रकाश डाला कि कार्यस्थल का माहौल भी अधिक से अधिक होस्टाइल होता जा रहा है और अधिकांश स्वास्थ्य कर्मियों को पर्याप्त आराम नहीं मिल रहा है, जिसके कारण वे नींद की कमी के प्रतिकूल प्रभावों से पीड़ित हैं।

उन्होंने कहा , कई सर्वेक्षणों से पता चला है कि हेल्थकेयर प्रोफेशनल की लाइफ  एक्सपेक्टेंसी बाकी लोगों की तुलना में 5 से 10 वर्ष कम है । डॉक्टरों और नर्सों को भी मधुमेह, मेलिटस, उच्च रक्तचाप, कोरोनरी धमनी रोग, स्ट्रोक, कैंसर, डिप्रेशन और सुसाइड टेंडेंसी जैसी जीवन शैली की बीमारियों के होने की अधिक संभावना है।

उन्होंने कहा कि कई अन्य कारक जो हेल्थकेयर प्रोफेशनल को प्रतिकूल रूप से प्रभावित कर रहे हैं, वे हैं करियर के विकास के अवसरों की कमी, पर्याप्त कौशल बढ़ाने वाले प्रशिक्षण की कमी, पूरी तरह से अपर्याप्त मुआवजा जो कि यूएसए में मिलने वाले मुकाबले से 10 गुना कम है।

ये सभी मुख्य रूप से इस तथ्य के लिए जिम्मेदार हैं कि 50 प्रतिशत नई नर्सें 2 साल के भीतर विदेश जा रही हैं। इन सभी का दीर्घकालिक प्रभाव विनाशकारी होने वाला है, डॉ पुरी ने कहा ।

भारतीय डॉक्टरों और नर्सों को दुनिया में सर्वश्रेष्ठ माना जाता है और उन्होंने यूएसए, यूके और ऑस्ट्रेलिया जैसे देशों में बहुत सम्मान और प्रसिद्धि अर्जित की है और इन देशों की स्वास्थ्य सेवा की रीढ़ हैं।
उन्होंने कहा कि देश तेजी से पर्याप्त प्रशिक्षित स्वास्थ्य पेशेवरों की अत्यधिक कमी की ओर बढ़ रहा है। यह सही समय है कि हम उन्हें उचित मान्यता दें जिन्होंने विदेशों से आकर्षक प्रस्तावों को अस्वीकार कर दिया और अपने देश की सेवा करना पसंद किया है।

इस अवसर पर नर्सिंग कॉलेज की प्राचार्य डॉ ज्योति तिवारी, वाइस प्रिंसिपल सतीश कुमार सहित अन्य वरिष्ठ फैकल्टी सदस्य भी उपस्थित थे।

Panjab University Coffee Table book Released

Prof. Raj Kumar (Vice Chancellor, Panjab University) released the book titled, ‘A Peek into the Heaven’ by Gaurav Gaur and Prabhdip Brar. The book is unique in its effort of capturing the essence of Panjab University campus during the 2020 nationwide lockdown. Prof. Renu Vig (Dean University Instructions, Panjab University) and Prof. Y P Verma (Registrar, Panjab University) also graced the occasion.

Prof. Raj Kumar congratulated the authors and appreciated the exemplary efforts of Dr Gaurav Gaur in capturing the unprecedented visuals clicked through a simple mobile phone camera. He further advised that the book be made as a Panjab University Souvenir that can be presented to delegations at various Panjab University events.

Dr Gaurav Gaur (Chairperson, Centre for Social Work, Panjab University) shared his experience of bringing together the coffee table book. He said that, ‘The book is an effort in capturing the different emotions and expressions of nature in PU campus during the nationwide lockdown’. He further said that when people could not step out of their homes, he took this as a challenge and opportunity to document the different flavours of life at PU campus especially the tranquility and solitude of the blossoming undisturbed natureß.

Dr Prabdip Brar, University Institute of Fashion Technology and Vocational Studies, a renowned artist of the city, who contributed by aptly captioning the pictures in the book said that this coffee table book would prove to be breakthrough and help in promoting the beauty of the campus.

‘Child Rights’ was delivered by Professor Devinder Singh, Chairperson, Department of Laws, P॰ U॰

            A special lecture on ‘Child Rights’ was delivered by Professor Devinder Singh, Chairperson, Department of Laws, Panjab University on 12th May, 2022.  This lecture was organised by Dr B.R. Ambedkar Centre and University School of Open Learning.  The rights of a child even before it is born were elaborated upon by the speaker.  It was highlighted that children should be granted specific rights for them to develop to their full potential.  The speaker underscored that a child should be protected in various environments, be it home or school.  The orator pointed out various problems that a child had to endure that did not see the light of the day.  Numerous solutions were suggested for the protection of the rights of children.  The talk was attended by over 90 people that included students, faculty and members of the law profession.  The talk ended with a lively discussion on the theme.

Technology Enabling Centre (TEC), Punjab University in collaboration with Design Innovation Centre (DIC) of Panjab University organized declamation contest on the topic “Holistic approach to science and technology for sustainable future” to celebrate National Technology Day, 2022.

Dean Research of Panjab University, Prof. Sudhir Kumar and Director of UIET, Panjab University graced the occasion and encouraged the students.

Mesmerising keynote address was delivered by Prof. Sudhir Kumar. Professor Sudhir suggested that scientists should communicate their research work in local Indian languages. Prof. Sudhir further suggested that trajectory of scientific & technological development should ensure harmony with self, family, society, local ecosystem and entire world at large. He highlighted that Indian knowledge system has capacity to ensure Holistic Approach to Science & Technology. Director of UIET Professor J K Goswamy urged youngsters to pick problems faced by local industry and society for innovation and provide sustainable solutions.

Participants from various CRIKC institutes like UIET PU, CCET, CIAB, IIT Ropar etc. participated in the contest and cash prize was awarded to the winners. Ramneek Kaur from ECE, UIET, PU secured first position, Harleen Kaur from CSE, UIET, PU secured second position and Chaitanya from EEE, UIET, PU secured third place.

The program concluded with Surender Singh Saini of CSIO-CSIR sharing his thoughts on National Technology Day, 2022 and distribution of prizes and certificates.

PU Central Placement Cell organises Distribution of Scholarships by Sarbat Da Bhala Charitable Trust

Central Placement Cell organised a function at UIAMS Conference hall to distribute scholarship to the students of Panjab University, Chandigarh on 10th May, 2022. These scholarships were granted to the students by the “Sarbat Da Bhala” charitable trust.

Dr. Amandeep Singh Marwaha, Associate Director, (CPC) and Training cum Placement Officer , UIAMS, enlightened about the various activities of the trust and about the event to the beneficiary students and participants in his introductory remarks.

Prof Meena Sharma, Director Central Placement Cell, Panjab University Chandigarh welcomed the Chief Guest Prof. Renu Vig, Dean University Instructions and Guest of Honour Mr. Sukhjeev  Singh Bajaj, CEO – IFM FinCoach and the student beneficiaries and participants. . Prof Sharma briefly enlightened the students about the help provided by the trust in past and how helpful it has been to students looking at the current state of economy. She also advised the students that they should also work hard and succeed in their career and give back to the society in similar fashion.

Prof. Renu Vig expressed gratitude towards trust. She also highlighted that there is no shortcuts to success and students should not be disheartened by the failures as these are stepping stones for future success.

Mr. Sukhjeev  Singh Bajaj and his team members also interacted with the students and had a special career guidance session in the BFSI(Banking Finance Service & Insurance)  sector .

This year in 2022, 12 students from various departments like Evening Studies, Chemistry, Math, UICET, UIPS, Economics, Education, Zoology, and IETVE have been provided with the scholarships totalling of Rs. 80,000. Sarbat da Bhala is a charitable trust which was started by Prof (Dr) S.P. Singh Oberoi. This philanthropic body is dedicated to the cause of extending economic benefits to the underprivileged and hitherto neglected sections of the society. Rules have been framed for the purpose and a scholarship holder will be one whose parents’ annual income is less than 5 Lac rupees, has 50% marks in the qualifying examination and fulfils the mandatory class attendance conditions.

The event ended with a formal vote of thanks by Professor Anupreet Kaur Mavi Officiating Director, UIAMS who highlighted that this event gave the students an insight into the career in BFSI Sector and she also thanked the Sarbat Da Bhala trust for providing scholarships to the meritorious and needy students.

The Sports meet started in the Panjab University Sports Ground under the supervision of Prof. Anil Monga, Chairperson, Centre for Police Administration, Panjab University, Chandigarh on 09th May, 2022 at 06:30 a.m. onwards. The students of M.A. 1st & 2nd Year of the Centre enthusiastically participated in 100 mtr race, 200 mtr. race, long jump, high jump, shot put, tug of war, three legged race etc. The purpose of the sports meet is to inspire the students to take part in more and more sports activities and to remain healthy & physically fit.

The event was attended by the faculty members, research scholars and staff of the Centre for Police Administration. In the end, Prof. Anil Monga, Chairperson, Centre for Police Administration thanks to everyone presented on the day of sports meet.

SEMINAR ON SAVE SOIL MOVEMENT  BY WOMEN DEVELOPMENT CELL

Centre for Women Development Cell in collaboration with Legal Aid Society and NSS, UILS Panjab University, Chandigarh organized an awareness seminar on the topic  SAVE SOIL MOVEMENT and CRISIS OF SOIL EXTINCTION . The webinar aimed at saving  soil from extinction by raising awareness globally and introducing the concept of Earth Buddy.

The webinar was organized under the chief patronage of Prof. Raj Kumar (Vice, Chancellor, PU) and hosted by Prof. Rajinder Kaur (Director, UILS, PU). The Teacher Coordinators for the event were Dr. Amita Verma, Dr. Karan Jawanda and Dr. Anupam Bahri. Student Coordinators includes Ramya Jit Kaur, Damanpreet Kaur and Ujawal Aggarwal.

The key note speaker for the webinar was Dr. Mona Chopra. Being an Earth Buddy herself, she shared her invaluable knowledge about the growing need of saving the soil and taking the right action in the present scenario.

The webinar was conducted on 9th May, 2022 from 3:00 to 4:00 pm with over 80 students attending it. A formal welcome address was delivered to the key note speaker for gracing the occasion. 

Dr. Mona Chopra acquainted the students with the impending crisis surrounding soil health and ways to restore it through the Save Soil movement which aims to raise the much needed awareness about the issue and the action which is to bring policy changes across all nations . It was indeed a very interactive session where students gave their inputs and participated in the Save Soil Anthem . The webinar concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Prof. Dr. Anupam Bahri

The webinar was highly appreciated due to the collective efforts of students and teachers.

 दयानन्द वैदिक अध्ययन पीठ

  दयानन्द चेयर के अध्यक्ष प्रो. वीरेन्द्र कुमार अलंकार ने मुख्यवक्ता डॉ. प्रशान्त का परिचय देते हुए बताया कि छः दर्शनों के समन्वय की पहली स्थापना स्वामी दयानन्द सरस्वती ने सत्यार्थप्रकाश के तृतीय समुल्लास में की है। दयानन्द ने सृष्टि विद्या नामक विषय के छः कारणों का उल्लेख करते हुए छः दर्शनों में बडा व्यावहारिक समन्वय स्थापित किया है। डॉ. प्रशान्त आचार्य ने बताया कि भारतीय-दर्शन जैसा शब्द विदेशियों द्वारा दिया गया है।

भारतीय छात्रों को विश्वविद्यालयों में जो न्याय, वैशेषिक, सांख्य, योग, पूर्व मीमांसा एवं उत्तर मीमांसा का क्रम पढाया जाता है, वह भारतीय चेतना से मेल नहीं खाता। सत्यार्थप्रकाश में स्वामी दयानन्द ने सर्वप्रथम मीमांसा दर्शन को पढने का निर्देश किया है, उसके बाद वैशेषिक, न्याय, सांख्य, योग और वेदान्त। इस क्रम से पढने में पाठक को पूर्वापर ज्ञान का परिचय स्वतः हो जाता है।

ऋषियों की ग्रन्थ लेखन शैली पर भी विचार विमर्श किया गया, जिसमें 50 से अधिक छात्र, शोधच्छात्र, अध्यापक आदि विद्यमान थे।

इस कार्यक्रम में चण्डीगढ के विभिन्न महाविद्यालयों से जैसे सैक्टर 10 डी.ए.वी से डॉ. सुमित्र बालिया, डॉ. सुषमा अलंकार, गवर्मेन्ट कॉलेज सैक्टर 11 से डॉ. चन्दन गुप्ता, पी.यू के अंग्रेजी विभाग से डॉ. दीप्ति गुप्ता आदि अध्यापकों ने भी भाग लिया।

The Department of Laws, Panjab University organised the annual Intra Department Moot Court Competition

            The Department of Laws, Panjab University organised the annual Intra Department Moot Court Competition on 4th-5th May 2022. The final round for the event was adjudged by 1)Justice R. K Jain (Former Judge Punjab and Haryana High Court), 2) Mr. Amar Vivek (Advocate, Punjab and Haryana High Court), and 3) Dr. Tejinder Kaur (Principal, Army institute of Law, Mohali). The Final round followed by valedictory function was attended by more than 200 students. The valedictory address was delivered by the chief guest, Hon’ble Justice R. K. Jain.  Team of Ritika Chopra, Riya and Ashtasheel Patil won the event and the team of Deep Zorawar Singh, Diksha Mahajan and isha Sabharwal were the runner-up, Team of Arundhati, Sophia and Shefali Rana won the prize of best memorial, Prabhjeet Singh won the prize for best student advocate and Abhishek Ahlawat won the best researcher prize. The event was coordinated by Dr. Shipra Gupta.
