Infosys Foundation Bengaluru & Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan Chandigarh come together to host 7 day long Art Festival from December 9th, 2022

Infosys Foundation, Bengaluru and Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Chandigarh Kendra come together to celebrate art, music and drama in a week long Contemporary Art Festival this December. This one-of-its-kind event hosted by Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan in its Bhavan Vidyalaya Chandigarh Campus (Sector 27), will be inaugurated by Punjab Governor and UT Administrator His Excellency Shri. Banwarilal Purohit. The event will also see other dignitaries including Mr. Sameer Goyal, Chief, Infosys Mohali, Mr. Abhishek Goyal, Chief, Infosys Chandigarh Shri. K.G.Raghavan, President, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Bengaluru and others. Padmashri Shri R.K.Saboo, Chairman, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Chandigarh Kendra and ex-president Rotary International, will be presiding over the programme. With performances ranging from classical recitals and Qawwalis to clown theatre and fusion concerts, this musical extravaganza is an attempt to put indigenous artists from the Tricity on the art and cultural map of India. The festival also includes an art exhibition displaying works of over 40 artists from the Tricity and live art workshops.
This seven-day festival starts at 5 p.m. on the 9th of December and closes on the 15th of December 2022. Entry will be free for the public during the festival. This prestigious event will also be broadcast live on the YouTube channels of Chandigarh and Bengaluru Kendras of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan. This is the first time that an event of such scale is organized by Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan Chandigarh. Such events have been organized by Infosys in collaboration with Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan earlier in Pune and Bangalore. Through this programme, citizens of the Tricity will get an opportunity to immerse themselves in music, art, drama and spirituality.
Special attractions:
- Dec 9th: Spiritual seeker Geet Rao will perform Shiv Aradhana at 5 pm followed by the artists of Pracheen Kala Kendra, who will present a dance drama – Bharat Amrit Manthan.
- Dec 10th and 11th: An Art Workshop will be held in which artists will provide a live demonstration of their art.
- Dec 10th: Qawwali will be performed by the Ibadat group on the evening of 10th December.
- Dec 11th: A concert will be presented by Guru Rohit Ashwa Bali from Chandigarh and Rajwinder Kaur from Amritsar at 5 pm.
- Dec 12th: The play Romeo Juliet and Saat Maskare directed by Sukhmani Kohli will be staged followed by a fusion music by singer Hardeep Kainth from Ropar, Punjab.
- Dec 13th: Kavi Ghosti by Shri. Vijay Kapoor and team followed by a Piano Recital by Anu Bains, Pratham Pal Singh,Atul; Lakra and Nainika.
- Dec 14th: Singer and music teacher Purabi Baruah will perform on 14th December after which Bharatanatyam performance will be presented by father-son duo, Rahul and Bharat Gupta.
- Dec 15th: Music performance by singer Poonam Rajput and will be followed by a play “First Teacher” will be staged by city’s famous theater artist Chakresh Kumar.
