Medical Health Check-Up Camp at PU Hostel

Medical Health Awareness and Check-Up Camp was organized at Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel Hall, Boy’s Hostel No. 4, Panjab University, Chandigarh for Mess and Canteen workers, here today. The Medical Health checkup for the mess and canteen workers was conducted by Medical Officers Dr. Divya Sawhney and Dr. Shatakshi Arya, Dr. Bharti Sharma, Dr. Ashwani and Dr. Sanjay.
The concept of Medical Health Awareness & Check-Up Camp was initiated 2017, at Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel Hall, Boy’s Hostel No. 4, in association with Centre for Public Health. The Camp included the thirty minutes health talk regarding Hand Hygiene and Hand Washing Technique by the Ms. Anjuman Brar and Dr. Ashima respectively. Besides, the camp also focused on the issue of personal hygiene, cleanliness, handwashing technique followed by the medical health check-up camp of the Mess and Canteen workers.
The camp was inaugurated by Professor Jagtar Singh, Dean Student Welfare, Panjab University. Prof. Jagtar while addressing the mess and canteen workers highlighted the need to keep the kitchen and residential area neat and clean. Further, he highlighted that health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well being. For a healthy life cycle, a person needs to have a balanced diet and has to regularly exercise. One must also live in a proper shelter, take enough sleep and have good hygiene habits.
The Guest of Honour, Prof. Savita Prashar, Guest of Honour and Coordinator of the Centre for Public Health, apprised that the health of workers is very important and we are committed to provide best facilities in the interest of student welfare and that more than forty mess and canteen workers besides hostel-staff are benefitted by this camp today.
Later, the Medical Check-up Camp including Body Mass Index, Dermatological Diagnosis, Oral/Dental hygiene was conducted by Dr. Kunal, Dr. Divya, Dr. Iram, Dr. Sunny and Dr. Gursimran under the able guidance of Dr. Manoj Kumar Sharma from the Centre for Public Health.
The programme was conducted by Mr. Rohil, Mr. Pardeep Buttola and Mr. Harchand Singh of Boy’s Hostel No. 4. Later, the appreciation certificates were disturbed to all who contributed for the successful organization of the programme.
