Haryana Vidhan Sabha Speaker, Gian Chand Gupta said that a nodal officer will be appointed for the upkeep and maintenance of all parks of Haryana Sheri Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) in Panchkula. Apart from this, one XEN will be allotted at least two parks so as to ensure that works related to repair; maintenance and beautification are completed on priority basis.
Gupta today visited the Fountain Park and Nirjhar Vatika in Sector -5 here today and inspected the works for the beautification and maintenance of the parks.
While expressing displeasure over the lack of cleanliness in the parks, he said that it is the responsibility of the concerned officers to ensure proper cleanliness and provide all necessary facilities in the parks. Sh Gupta spoke to the Chief Administrator of HSVP on phone and apprised him of the situation. On this, CA, HSVP assured Sh Gupta that all shortcomings in the parks would be rectified by June 15. He further said that a nodal officer will be appointed to ensure cleanliness, repair and all necessary facilities in the parks in coordination with the concerned departments. Apart from this, an Executive Engineer will be given the responsibility of at least two parks so that works related to repair and beatification are completed on priority basis.
Gupta said that fountains will run daily from 6 to 8 in morning and evening so that visitors coming to the park can enjoy the same. Besides, arrangements of lighting should be made in the fountains so as to make them more attractive in the evening. He directed to make adequate drinking water arrangements for the people visiting the park. While expressing concern over the dilapidated condition of a shed that could also lead to an accident, Sh Gupta directed to construct a new designer shed so as to ensure the safety and security of people. He also inspected the toilets constructed in the park and directed the concerned officers to ensure cleanliness of toilets on a regular basis.
On this occasion, Gupta also discussed the problem of illegal encroachment in Panchkula. He said that recently thousands of slums have been removed from Chandigarh after which, new slums are coming up near Mata Mansa Mandir complex, Kharak Mangoli and Industrial Area Phase II. He directed HSVP to launch a massive drive to prevent new slums from developing in Panchkula. In case, any such case comes to the light, immediate action should be taken to remove the slums, he added.
It may be recalled that Gian Chand Gupta had visited Fountain Park and Nirjhar Vatika on April 26 where he found certain irregularities . He had directed the concerned officers to take necessary action in this regard. Sh Gupta said that though several works regarding repair and beautification of the parks have been done, yet much more needs to be done in this direction.
Among those present on this occasion included Administrator, HSVP Jagdish Sharma, Estate Officer Gagandeep Singh, XEN Ashok Rana, Amit Rathi, Nidhi Bhardwaj, SDO Ajay Bansal, BJP District Vice President Umesh Sood, Councilors namely Harendra Malik and Sonu Birla and other concerned officers.
