Panchkula, March 25 :
Haryana Chief Minister, Manohar Lal will address “Vikas Rally” in Panchkula on April 10 where he will also inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of several development projects worth crores of rupees.
This was informed by Vidhan Sabha Speaker, Sh Gian Chand Gupta while presiding over a meeting of officers of various departments at PWD Rest House, Sector-1 here today to review the progress of ongoing development projects of Panchkula assembly constituency.
Deputy Commissioner, Sh Mahavir Kaushik and Mayor, Municipal Corporation Sh Kulbhushan Goyal were also present in the meeting.
Sh Gupta said that Chaitra Navratri is commencing from April 2 and Chief Minister, Sh Manohar Lal would dedicate several development projects pertaining to various departments to people of Panchkula on the auspicious occasion of Navami on April 10. On the same day, he would also address a “Vikas Rally”.
While reviewing the development works, Sh Gupta directed the officers of the concerned departments to expedite the ongoing development works and also resolve inter-departmental issues in a stipulated time frame so that the pace of development works do not hamper.
Expressing dissatisfaction over the action being taken against illegal encroachment in Panchkula, Sh Gupta said that it is the responsibility of the concerned SHO and Junior Engineer (JE) of Haryana Sheri Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) or Municipal Corporation to prevent the recurrence of encroachment once it is removed. He also sought a report on the action taken in such cases so far. Besides, Sh Gupta also asked the Municipal Corporation to allot vacant spaces to street vendors in the already established vending zones through draw of lots and also identify sites for the setting up of new vending zones.
Sh Gupta said that Gaurav Patt and Vikas Patt should be set up in all the villages of the district showcasing the achievements of villagers and development works of various developments. While the Gaurav Patt in the village will show the achievements of villagers in different fields, the Vikas Patt will show development works carried out in the village. He said that these Gaurav Patts and Vikas Patts should be set up at such places where these are easily visible.
While reviewing the progress of depot level workshop of Haryana Roadways being constructed in Industrial Area Phase-II , he directed to complete the work at the earliest and said that additional manpower be deployed for this purpose. The Executive Engineer of Public Works (Building and Roads) Department informed Sh Gupta that 96 per cent work of the depot has been completed and efforts would be made to complete the remaining work by April 10. Sh Gupta directed the Municipal Corporation that the work of eight sewerage treatment plants being constructed in 14 villages be completed before April 10.
While taking strict cognizance of the complaint of irregularities in road construction work on Barwala bypass, Sh Gupta directed to take action against the concerned officer and submit a report in this regard. Additional Deputy Commissioner Sh Ayush Sinha apprised Sh Gupta that he along with the officers of the concerned department has inspected the 500 meter stretch and all the 35 defective panels have been rectified at the agency’s risk and cost.
