Haryana Vidhan Sabha Speaker, Sh Gian Chand Gupta directed to appoint nodal officers to chalk out an effective strategy on seven concerns
- Nodal Officers will prepare a report on each concern and submit the same in the next meeting
- A joint meeting of all RWAs, NGOs and concerned departments will be convened soon to deliberate on these concerns
- Gupta directed a prepare a pilot project for laying underground electricity cables in Panchkula on the lines of other smart cities

Haryana Vidhan Sabha Speaker, Sh Gian Chand Gupta today directed to appoint nodal officers to chalk out an effective strategy on seven concerns to make Panchkula pollution, plastic, drugs, stray cattle, street dog, slum and encroachment free. He said that the Nodal Officers would prepare a report on each concern and submit the same in the next meeting so that work could be done in this direction in a planned manner.
Sh Gupta gave these directions while presiding over a meeting to review the progress of development works of Panchkula Assembly Constituency at PWD Rest House, Sector 1 here today. Deputy Commissioner, Sh Mahavir Kaushik and Mayor, Municipal Corporation Sh Kulbhushan Goyal were also present in the meeting.
Sh Gupta said that he has given seven concerns for the all-round development of Panchkula. These include making Panchkula free from pollution, plastic, drugs, stray cattle, street dogs, slums and encroachment. He said that for pollution related concerns, an officer of Haryana State Pollution Control Board would be made Nodal Officer while for the concerns related to plastic, stray cattle and stray dog, an officer of Municipal Corporation would be deputed as Nodal Officer. For encroachment and slum related concerns, an officer of Haryana Shehri Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) would be made Nodal Officer, he added.
He said that the participation of residents of Panchkula would also be ensured in this work. “I will soon convene a joint meeting of all the Resident Welfare Associations of Panchkula, NGOs and officers of concerned departments to deliberate on this issue. He said that work would be done on these concerns in a phased manner. Initially the school children would be sensitized about these concerns and later on the residents of Panchkula would be associated with this programme so that Panchkula could be made more clean, green and beautiful.
Sh Gupta also directed that a pilot project should be prepared for laying underground electricity cables in Panchkula on the lines of other smart cities. It was informed that provision of underground power cables is being made in the new sectors being developed in Pinjore by HSVP.
While reviewing the progress of construction of ROB on Chandigarh-Ambala railway line in Sector 19, the Vidan Sabha Speaker directed the Railways and Public Works (Building and Roads) Department to complete their work by March 31, 2022. The officials from Railways who also attended the meeting assured Sh. Gupta that the work related to Railways would be completed by March 25, 2022. Sh Gupta directed that the construction work of Sanskrit College in Shri Mata Mansa Devi Temple premises be started at the earliest. He was informed that the drawings for Sanskrit College have already been approved and a letter has been sent to the Public Works Department (Building and Roads) Department to prepare an estimate for the construction of the building.
It was informed in the meeting that an estimate of Rs 5.40 lakh has been prepared by the Municipal Corporation for displaying digital time tables on 30 bus queue shelters in Panchkula. Apart from this, out of 21 entrance gates to be constructed in villages falling under Municipal Corporation, 9 entrance gates have been completed. Apart from this, work of shifting high tension wires in villages Khatauli, Jalauli and Toka has been completed and the work of construction of entrance gates in these three villages would also be started soon. Tenders have been floated for the remaining 9 entrance gates.
It was informed in the meeting that the defective panels on Barwala bypass road have been replaced at the risk and cost of the agency and the payment to the agency concerned would be made only after inspecting the work. It was informed that work for the construction of a new link road from Khanauli to Khangesara is in progress and it would be completed by February 28.
In the meeting Sh Gupta also reviewed the development works of various other departments including Health, Public Health Engineering, Forest, Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Limited, Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board, Haryana Shehri Vikas Pradhikaran, HSIIDC and Haryana Police Housing Corporation.
Among those present in the meeting included Joint Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Sanyam Garg, Civil Surgeon Dr. Mukta Kumar, Block Development and Panchayat Officer Martina Mahajan, Chief Executive Officer of Shri Mata Mansa Devi Shrine Board Ashok Bansal and concerned officers of different departments.
