Seven persons arrested for consuming liquor at public places

        Seven different cases U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC have been registered in different police stations i.e. PS-11, PS-17, PS-Sarangpur, PS-34, & PS-36, Chandigarh against 07 persons who were arrested while consuming liquor at public places on 28 & 29.03.2021. Later they were released on bail.

One arrested for possessing illegal liquor

          Chandigarh Police arrested Tippu R/o # 252, Block-H, Colony No. 4, Ph-1, Ind. Area, Chandigarh while he was illegally possessing 20 quarters of country liquor at Colony No. 4, Ph-1, Ind. Area, Chandigarh on 29.03.2021. A case FIR No. 52, U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-Ind. Area, Chandigarh. Later, he was bailed out. Investigation of case is in progress.

Action against gambling/satta

Chandigarh Police arrested Amarjit Singh @ Kala R/o # 450, Ph-2, Ram Darbar, Chandigarh while he was playing satta near his house on 28.03.2021. Total cash Rs. 3890/- was recovered from his possession. In this regard, a case FIR No. 40, U/S 13A-3-67 Gambling Act has been registered in PS-31, Chandigarh. Later, he was bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Action against violation of orders of DM, UT, Chandigarh

A case FIR No. 52, U/S 188, 269, 270, 34 IPC & 58 Disaster Management has been registered in PS-26, Chandigarh against Neeraj Kharab (owner), Kush Lobe (manager), Abhishek (manager) R/o Mobe Club, SCO No. 41, Sector-26, Chandigarh who organized a party at said Club, Sector 26, Chandigarh and did not followed social distancing guidelines on 29.03.2021 and violated the orders of District Magistrate, UT, Chandigarh. Manager of club namely Kush Lobe has been arrested in this case. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Theft

Rohit Bhutani R/o # 2016, Sector-15C, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stole away two mobile phones, laptop, two I-Pad and one watch from his house on 26.03.2021. A case FIR No. 42, U/S 380 IPC has been registered in PS-11, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A lady resident of Sector-37C, Chandigarh reported that two unknown ladies and one person given her lift in their car to her residence from near SD Mandir, Sector 37C, Chandigarh on 28.03.2021. Later complainant noticed that the said ladies stole away her two gold bangles wearing in hands. A case FIR No. 87, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Snatching

A case FIR No. 14, U/S 379A IPC has been registered in PS-19, Chandigarh on the complaint of Bijay Kumar R/o # 2662, Sector 19C, Chandigarh who reported that two unknown persons on M/Cycle sped after snatching complainant’s gold chain near chowk Sector-19/27/20/30 Chandigarh on 27.03.2021. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A case FIR No. 17, U/S 379A IPC has been registered in PS-49, Chandigarh on the complaint of Bapan Dass R/o # 3227/3, Sector-44D, Chandigarh who reported that unknown person on motor cycle snatched away mobile phone of complainant near Nagli Ashram, Sector-50, Chandigarh on 27.03.2021. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Accident

          A case FIR No. 86, U/S 279, 304A IPC has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh on the statement of Pritam R/o # 1449/24, Sector-29, Chandigarh who reported that driver of Auto No. PB65-AW-9357 namely Naseem Ali R/o # 9, Village Kandala, Distt-Mohali (PB) hit their M/Cycle No. CH03-Z-2924 driven by his cousin Rakesh Kumar near Govt. School. Sector-56, Chandigarh on 27.03.2021. Motor Cycle driver namely Rakesh Kumar R/o # 278/2, Village–Badheri, Sector-41, Chandigarh and complainant (pillion rider) both got injured and admitted in GMSH-16, Chandigarh, where Rakesh Kumar expired during treatment. Auto driver arrested and later bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

          A case FIR No. 59, U/S 279, 337 IPC has been registered in PS-36, Chandigarh on the complaint of ASI Ashok Kumar, PP-61 who reported that driver of motor cycle sped away after hitting to complainant near H.No. 2278, Pakki Colony, Sector 52, Chandigarh on 29.03.2021. Later alleged driver namely Bobby R/o # 736 Village-Mattour, Sector-70, Mohali (PB) age 19 years, arrested and later bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Rioting

A case FIR No. 53, U/S 323, 341, 147, 148, 149, 160 IPC has been registered in PS-26, Chandigarh on the complaint of Rajesh Kumar R/o # 706/29, BDC, Sector-26, Chandigarh who reported that Subham R/o # 701/12, BDC, Sector-26, Chandigarh and Harun R/o # 701/38, BDC, Sector-26, Chandigarh, Sahil, Joshan, Ajay, Baljinder, Gorav, Sahrukh, Nasrin, Vishal, Vijay and 6/7 other persons committed affray and pelted stones on each other near his house on 29.03.2021. Resultantly, complainant’s wife got injured and admitted in GH-16, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Assault

A case FIR No. 51, U/S 324 IPC has been registered in PS-34, Chandigarh on the complaint of Rohit Sharma R/o # 2621/1 Sector-44/C, Chandigarh who alleged that Saranjit Singh @ Labba R/o # 2709, 1^st floor, Sector-44/C, Chandigarh quarreled and assaulted complainant with sharp weapon near his residence on 27.03.2021. Alleged person has been arrested in this case. Investigation of the case is in progress.

MV Theft

         Munish Kumar Mathur R/o # 3083, Sector-44/D, Chandigarh reported that unknown person who stole away complainant’s Honda City car No. CH-03X-2734 parked near his house on the night intervening 18/19-03-2021. A case FIR No. 52, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-34, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
