Webinar on NEP 2020 by PU Biotechnogy Deptt

Chandigarh – 10 Sept:

Department of Biotechnology, Panjab University Chandigarh organized a Webinar on National Education Policy 2020 which was inaugurated by the Vice Chancellor, Prof Raj Kumar . In his inaugural address, Prof Raj Kumar described the New Education Policy -2020  as holistic and futuristic policy in nature. The new education policy will bring quality education and research in Indian Institute of Primary and Higher Education. He quoted that it will began new era of education system in India and India will regain its lost glory of education system existed during the era of Takshila and Nalanda Universities etc, when people from various parts of world come to study in India. NEP-2020 is being described as “Blooming for the sake of Blooming”. It is a policy towards fulfilling mission of self reliant/Atmanirbhar Bharat. Inclusion of all 22 languages in NEP-2020 and teaching/learning in the National language is again a welcoming step in NEP. This will help each and every child to grasp the thing more easily, when taught in their mother tongue.

 Eminent speakers like Dr Sunil Gupta, Chairman of the HP State Higher Education Council and former VC HPU Shimla described how the policy will change the entire education system of India. Dr Sandeep malhotra, from Allahabad Central University talked about the research aspects of NEP-2020  and how this policy will enhance research capabilities of Indian universities and institutes. Prof RC Sobti, former VC Panjab University and BBAU Lukhnow enlightened the students that NEP-2020 is a value based education policy and develops humanistic, ethical, skill oriented, and other values among students.

In the end  Dr Kashmir Singh, Chairperson Department of Biotechnology thanked the speakers and participants for their active participation and making this event as success.
