Operation Cell arrested thief stealing from IAS Officer’s house

                In a major breakthrough, Operation Cell of Chandigarh Police under the supervision of Inspector Ranjeet Singh, I/C Operations Cell and the close guidance of Smt. Rashmi Sharma Yadav, DANIPS, DSP Operations and overall supervision of Sh. Vineet Kumar, IPS, SP/Operations & City, succeeded in arresting one thief within 24 hours of house theft incident who stolen, valuable items from house of IAS Officer namely Dr. G. Vajralingam and in the matter of case FIR No.142 dated 07.09.2020 u/s 380, 454 IPC, stands registered in PS-Manimajra, Chandigarh. The detail of accused persons is as under:-

The facts of the case as:-

        The above said case was registered on the complaint of    Dr. G. Vajralingam, IAS, R/o # 5630, Modern Housing Complex, Manimajra, U.T. Chandigarh, in which he stated that he is serving as Member Secretary Finance Commission, Govt. of Punjab and on 07.09.2020, while he was in office Sector-26, he received a call from neighbours about suspected person at home. When he reached home around 05:40 PM, he found main door locks of house broken and saw all the Almirah and other things ransacked and the person fled away after stolen few items from his house.

        On 08.09.2020, a secret information was received that a person, who stolen the items yesterday from IAS house, Modern Housing Complex is roaming in the area of Maulijgaran, Chandigarh. After receiving this information, within no time, SI Jagtar Singh alongwith other officials, laid a secret naka on railway track near nursery, Maulijagran, Chandigarh to apprehend the said accused. At about 03.30 PM, on the tips of secret informer, police party apprehended one pedestrian person, who disclosed his name & address Vikram @ Vicky @ Cheppu S/o Sh. Shiv Paswan, R/o # 4483, Maulijagran Complex, Chandigarh, Age 25years.

During interrogation accused Vikram @ Vicky @ Cheppu disclosed that on dated 07.09.2020, at about 03:00 PM he broken the locks with rod and entered at H.No. 5630, Modern Housing Complex, Manimajra, U.T. Chandigarh for stealing the valuable items. He collected all the valuable items in a suitcase to take with him but, in the mean time the neighbours were gathered there and he ran from the spot with few items.

                Tomorrow, i.e. on 09.09.2020, accused Vikram @ Vicky @ Cheppu is being produced in the Learned Hon’ble Court and his police remand will be obtained to recover the stolen items and used rod in the crime and to know his involvement in other cases. The further investigation of the case is in progress.
