Jallandhar:
With the novel coronavirus outbreak, our lives have changed drastically and so has the global environment. While humans are staying inside their homes, because of the prolonged lockdowns, wildlife is taking over the streets and the air is finally clear. Proofs of this changed scenario have been going viral on the internet.
And something similar took place in the city of Jalandhar, Punjab and it was extremely astounding. Indian Forest Service (IFS) Officer Parveen Kaswan took to Twitter on Friday to share a picture from Jalandhar. Because of the clean air and no pollution, the people in the city witnessed Himachal Pradesh’s Dhauladhar range for the first time ever.
He tweeted the image with the caption, “When people of #Jalandhar saw #Dhauladhar range first time ever. Dhualdhar’s mountain ranges lies at a distance of 213 km from Jalandhar. This is how pollution made us blind.”
According to Kaswan, this was the first time that the city saw the ranges, which lies at a distance of 213 km from the city.
Cricketer Harbhajan Singh also tweeted a picture of the view from his house. Take a look:
After Kaswan shared the tweet, it quickly went viral and managed to garner around 1.3k likes and many retweets. Users took to the comments section to show their excitement and thank the lockdown for this incredible view. Few others shared the pictures they clicked of the ranges.
One person wrote, “I live in jalandhar and the view was really very beautiful. First time we have seen this wonderful view here. Everyone was excited by seeing this.”
