Arrest of Tanzanian Native Drug Peddler

Korel, CHANDIGARH – 29.11.2019

            Cracking the whip on the drug paddlers, on 28.11.2019, a team of Crime Branch of Chandigarh Police under the supervision of Inspector Ranjit Singh, I/C Crime Branch and close guidance of Sh. Rajeev Kumar Ambasta, DANIPS, DSP Crime succeeded in apprehending one Tanzanian native drug peddler namely Oscard Fredrique Mtiti  by Sub Inspector Baldev Singh, Crime Branch with the help of his team officials. While, this team was on patrolling duty in the area of Police Station, Sector-17, Chandigarh with regards to prevention and control crime and when were present near Fire Bridge Building, Sector-17, Chandigarh, in the mean time, one person came there, from ISBT, Sector-17 side on foot and on seeing police party returned towards, Sector-18, fastly and on the basis of suspicion, he was stopped by SI Baldev Singh and his team officials and his checking was made. When, his checking was continued, he tried to throw some material from his pocket and same was held by police party. On further checking, the same was found Heroin drugs, recovered from his possession and on weighting, it was found 100 gms Heroin worth Rs. 5 lakhs approximately.  On asking, he disclosed his name as Oscard Fredrique Mtiti and could not produce any type of permit/license for holding the drugs in his possession.

            Consequent, case FIR No. 372 dated 28.11.2019 u/s 21 NDPS Act, PS-17, Chandigarh has been registered against the accused Oscard Fredrique Mtiti s/o Ferdrique Mititi r/o Palam New Delhi.

                        Today, accused will be produced before Hon’ble District Court, UT/Chandigarh, the investigation of this case is being carried out.

                        It is for kind knowledge that since last two months, in a special campaign to control criminal incident i.e., house theft, burglary, snatching, bootlegging and drug peddling under the close supervision of Inspector Ranjit Singh, I/C Crime Branch, the teams of Crime Branch have succeeded in nabbing many drug peddlers, burglars, bootlegger,  the detail of same are mentioned below. The teams of Crime Branch under the close supervision of Inspector Ranjit Singh and guidance of DSP Rajeev Kumar Ambasta are continuously working with hard work, dedication and even in day night process in nabbing the accused persons involved in the incidents of different crime heads within the jurisdiction of Chandigarh.
