Congress candidate from Panchkula assembly constituency Chander Mohan got a major breakthrough when Independent candidate Gurtej Singh announced to withdraw in favour of Chander Mohan. Gurtej Singh said that people are continuously raising voice against the BJP candidate Gian Chand Gupta and due to anti Public policies of the BJP, he is supporting Chander Mohan. Gurtej Singh has joined the Chander Mohan camp along with hundreds of his staunch supporters who have all vowed to help Chander Mohan win this contest handsomely. 

It was a day of double delight for team Chander Mohan as former INLD Councillor Amarjeet Singh also joined his camp along with his supporters and workers. Amarjit Singh has a strong hold in ward number 19 and his joining Congress has given   a shot in the arm for  the Congress. Chander Mohan thanked both the leaders for their support and said that they will be given full respect in the party.

On Tuesday, Chander Mohan visited Sector 20 and appealed to the people to Vote and Support him, whole heartedly. People of the area apprised him of their perpetual problem of facing a huge traffic jam everyday thanks to the inter-section of Sector 20 & 12A, which has to deal with a National Highway in between. Chander Mohan said that BJP MLA Gian Chand Gupta has failed to solve the problems of the people. That is why I promise to the people of Sector 20 that after becoming MLA, a flyover between Sector 12A and 20 will be constructed so that people do not have to get stuck in the jam and to avoid any unsavoury incident on while crossing through the Highway.

Chander Mohan’s election campaign got a booster shot today as leaders from neighbouring State of Himachal and Punjab and Congress Stalwarts from Haryana sought votes for him. Former Himachal minister Ram Lal Thakur, Former Haryana Minister Dharampal Malik and Mohali District Congress President Deependra Singh Dhillon reached Panchkula. Ram Lal Thakur and Deepender Dhillon visited various places and appealed for votes in favour of Chander Mohan.

Ram Lal Thakur also apprised  Chander Mohan of a long standing  demand from the people of Himachal Pradesh that they need a place to stay while visiting Panchkula and just like in Chandigarh, in Panchkula too a Himachal Bhawan, should be there. Chander Mohan was prompt to express his deep love and respect for the people of Himachal who have lots of relatives and associates living in Panchkula and promised that he would get a site allotted for the Himachal Bhawan on priority basis and help get it constructed. He also mentioned that a similar request has been there for long from the people of Uttarakhand and they too shall have their Bhawan, when the Congress comes to power.

Former Panchkula Mayor Upinder Kaur Ahluwalia and Senior Congress leader Dhanendra Ahluwalia also campaigned in favour of Chander Mohan at Village Kundi. The two really bolstered his election campaign in an emphatic manner.  Chander Mohan  said that as Mayor of Panchkula Municipal Corporation, Upinder Kaur Ahluwalia took a direct fight with the government for the city’s development. After the formation of the BJP government, BJP conspired against Upendra Kaur Ahluwalia so that she could be removed, but she remained firmly in control. Chander Mohan said that while Upinder Kaur Ahluwalia was the mayor, she did not get a single stain and she waged a campaign against the corrupt. Panchkula is in great need of such an impeccable leaders. Speaking in public meeting in favour of Chander Mohan, Upinder Kaur Ahluwalia and Dhanendra Ahluwalia attacked the BJP candidate and the government fiercely and appealed to the people to vote for Chander Mohan.

Bittu, Kaka Lamberdar, Raghuveer Singh, Inderjit Singh also joined the Congress band wagon.People of Rally Panchayat also announced their support to Chander Mohan and promised to ensure his victory in the elections.Former councillor Pawan Mittal, Jalmegha Dahiya were also present on the occasion.
