Two arrested for consuming liquor at public place

Two different cases U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC have been registered in PS-03 & PS-39, Chandigarh against two persons who were arrested while consuming liquor at public place on 15.03.2019. This drive will be continuing in future, the general public is requested for not breaking the law.

One arrested under NDPS Act

Chandigarh Police arrested Sachin R/o # 331, Green City, Dhakoli Zirakpur Mohali PB (age 31 years) near public toilets, DBC, Sector 25, Chandigarh andrecovered 5 gram Heroine from his possession on 15.03.2019. A case FIR No. 47, U/S 21 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-11, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Three arrested for possessing illegal liquor

Chandigarh Police arrested Surjit Singh R/o # 1124/2, Deep Complex, Hallo Majra, Chandigarh from near Gas Agency, Ph-2, Ram Darbar, Chandigarh while illegally possessing 16 quarters of country made liquor. A case FIR No. 94, U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-31, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Chandigarh Police arrested Mohan Singh R/o # 4238, Sec-56, Chandigarh at road near Pingalwara, Sector-56, Chandigarh while illegally possessing 40 quarters of quarters of country made liquor. A case FIR No. 68, U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Chandigarh Police arrested Manoj R/o # 857, DMC, Chandigarh from Sector-38/West Chandigarh while illegally possessing 24 quarters of quarters of country made liquor. A case FIR No. 35, U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-Maloya, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Action against Gambling/Satta

Chandigarh Police arrested Munish Kumar R/o # 132, Ph-1, BDC, Sec-26, Chandigarh while he was playing satta near Nirankari Bhawan Sec-28, Chandigarh on 15.03.2019. Total cash Rs. 2470/- was recovered from him. In this regard, a case FIR No. 57, U/S 13A-3-67 Gambling Act has been registered in PS-26, Chandigarh. Later he was released on bail. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Chandigarh Police arrested Sunil Kumar @ Tony R/o # 2104, PWT, Mani Majra, Chandigarh while he was playing satta near BSNL Turn, Mani Majra, Chandigarh on 15.03.2019. Total cash Rs. 2720/- was recovered from him. In this regard, a case FIR No. 37, U/S 13A-3-67 Gambling Act has been registered in PS-MM, Chandigarh. Later he was released on bail. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Chandigarh Police arrested Sachin R/o # 6535/A, Sector-56, Chandigarh, Nachatar Singh R/o # 162, Vill. Badheri Chandigarh, Ashok Kumar R/o # 56, Sec-56, Chandigarh while they were gambling near Palsora Chowk, Chandigarh on 15.03.2019. Total cash Rs. 3550/- was recovered from him. In this regard, a case FIR No. 66, U/S 13-3-67 Gambling Act has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh. Later he was released on bail. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Accident

A case FIR No. 48, U/S 279, 337 IPC has been registered in PS-11, Chandigarh on the complaint of Ravinder Tewari R/o A-84, PU Campus, Chandigarh against driver of Thar Jeep No. PB-65AR-6688 namely Abhishek Dhanda R/o Village Khandrouli P.O. Gumthla, Teh. Jagadhari Distt. Yamunanagar (HR) who hit to complainant’s  Bullet M/Cycle No. CH-01BL-6528 near Main Market, PU, Sector-14, Chandigarh on 15.03.2019. Jeep driver arrested and later bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

MV Theft

          Mohit Garg R/o # 2316/B, Block-28, Sector-63, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’s Bullet M/Cycle No. PB-30W-3527 parked near his residence between 22-02-2019 to 01-03-2019. A case FIR No. 21, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-49, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

          Karnail Singh R/o # 2247, Sec-44/C, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’s Activa Scooter No. CH-04-4036 parked near his residence on 09-03-2019. A case FIR No. 67, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-34, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

          Raghav Bansal R/o # 2794, Sec-37/C, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’s Activa Scooter No. CH-01AY-4812 parked near H.No. 153, Sec-40/A, Chandigarh. A case FIR No. 65, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
