Special drive against consuming liquor at public place was carried out at different parts of the city in which total 19 cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered.

 In continuation of a special drive against consuming liquor at public place, yesterday, the drive was carried out at different parts of the city. Under this drive total 19 different cases U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered in different police stations of Chandigarh in which total 20 persons were arrested while consuming liquor at public   place. All later on bailed out. The detail of police Stations in which cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 got registered:- PS-17= 1 case, PS-19 = 1 case, PS-26 = 1 case, PS-Ind. Area = 14 cases, PS-I.T Park = 2 cases.

This drive will be continuing in future, the general public is requested for not breaking the law.

One arrested with stolen M/Cycle while applying fake number

Crime Branch of Chandigarh Police arrested Pintu R/o # 1146, Dashmesh Nagar, Naya Gaon, Punjab at Naka near under bridge, Sector-11/15 dividing road, Chandigarh while he was using fake Registration number CH-01BU-9977 on stolen M/Cycle which was stolen from Sector-5, Distt.Panchkula, Haryana. In this regard, a case FIR No. 45, U/S 473, 411 IPC has been registered in PS-11, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Nine arrested for possessing illegal liquor

Chandigarh Police arrested Ajay Kumar R/o # 1186, Teen Colony, Sector-52, Chandigarh from near turn Dental College, Sector-25, Chandigarh while illegally possessing 24 quarters of country made liquor. A case FIR No. 46, U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-11, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Chandigarh Police arrested Sandeep Kumar R/o Jhuggi No. 241, Sanjay Labour Colony, Phase-1, Industrial Area, Chandigarh from near Plot No. 45, Phase-1, Industrial Area, Chandigarh while illegally possessing 24 quarters of country made liquor. A case FIR No. 60, U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-Ind. Area, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Chandigarh Police arrested a lady resident of Sector-29/B, Chandigarh from near Mandi, Sector-29, Chandigarh while illegally possessing 20 quarters of country made liquor. A case FIR No. 61, U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-Ind. Area, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Chandigarh Police arrested Avnat Saha R/o # 159, Sanjay Labour Colony, Phase-1, Industrial Area, Chandigarh from near Geeta Press, Sanjay Labour Colony, Phase-1, Industrial Area, Chandigarh while illegally possessing 20 quarters of country made liquor. A case FIR No. 62, U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-Ind. Area, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A case FIR No. 57, U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-36, Chandigarh on the statement of SI. Ashok Tulli, Traffic Line, Sector-29 against Paramjit Singh R/o Village- Bhagpur, Distt.-Ludhiana, Punjab who was arrested while illegally possessing 696 bottles of liquor in Innova Car No. PB-AQ-8474 from Sector-34/35 dividing road, Chandigarh. Accused arrested and bailed out. Car taken into Police Possession. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Chandigarh Police arrested Bijender Kumar R/o # 1456, Sector-52, Chandigarh near tubewell, park Sector-52, Chandigarh while illegally possessing 24 quarters of King Gold Whiskey and 35 quarters of country made liquor. A case FIR No. 58, U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-36, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Chandigarh Police arrested a lady resident of Sector-38/D, Chandigarh from Sector-38/40 dividing road, Sector-38 side while illegally possessing 48 quarters of quarters of country made liquor. A case FIR No. 63, U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Chandigarh Police arrested a lady resident of Sector-56, Chandigarh from near Govt. Senior Secondary School, Sector-56, Chandigarh while illegally possessing 20 quarters of quarters of country made liquor. A case FIR No. 64, U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Chandigarh Police arrested Raju R/o # 1623, Sector-52, Chandigarh from near Sheetla Mata Mandir, DMC, Chandigarh while illegally possessing 34 quarters of quarters of country made liquor. A case FIR No. 34, U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-Maloya, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Action against Gambling/Satta

Chandigarh Police arrested Vinod R/o F-3, Plot No. 401, Maya Garden City, Zirakpur, Punjab while he was gambling near Dev Samaj College, Sector-45, Chandigarh on 14.03.2019. Total cash Rs. 2210/- was recovered from him. In this regard, a case FIR No. 66, U/S 13A-3-67 Gambling Act has been registered in PS-34, Chandigarh. Later he was released on bail. Investigation of the case is in progress.

MV Theft

          Rahul Kahan R/o Plot No. 182/14, Phase-1, Industrial Area, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’s Motor Cycle No. RJ-40SE-6897 from Sadar Bazar, Sector-19, Chandigarh on 09.03.2019. A case FIR No. 32, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-19, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Cheating

          A case FIR No. 62, U/S 420, 120B IPC has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh on the complaint of Annu Verma R/o Flat No. 407, D-3, Penta Home Society, Zirakpur, (PB) who alleged that her brother-in-law namely Dinesh Midha R/o # 1502, Sector 70, Mohali (PB) falsely fabricated and changed residential address of complainant in bank records and also managed to update the registered mobile number in bank. All the details of account have been changed without consent of complainant. He had himself written the letters to the concerned officials of the bank on behalf of complainant. Investigation of the case is in progress.
