Inaugural session of CHASCON-2019at PU

13th Chandigarh Science Congress, CHASCON-2019 on the theme “Science and Technology for New India” organized by Panjab University in association with Chandigarh Region Innovation and Knowledge Cluster (CRIKC), was inaugurated by Prof. Raj Kumar, Vice Chancellor Panjab University,here today.
Prof. Raj Kumar, Vice Chancellor in his address while appreciating the conference organizers said that we need to carry out research on socially relevant aspects and build relation between Industry, Academia and Researchers. He wished for the success of the conference alongwith fruitful deliberations which could be converted into action plan. He proposed the idea of collaboration with International Institutes, International Bodies and bring more proposals to the Govt. to strengthen economic support system.
Prof. S.S. Patnaik, Director, National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research (NITTR), Chandigarh in his address urged the youth to aggressively “Think without Box”to meet the needs of challenging era. He gave three mantras to the youth to achieve their goals i.e. Partnership builds Strength, Networking builds Wealth and Empowerment builds Progress. He asked the young scientists and researchers to be like a river finding their way through persistence and confidence.
Earlier Prof. RajatSandhir, Deptt. of Biochemistry PU and CHASCON convener in his welcome address said that this conference is a platform for young and innovative students to enhance their research acumen through interaction with eminent scientists. He added that the theme this year is related to Science and Technology and is apt as these are the key elements in the economic growth of modern India. He further informed that 1200 plus participants are participating from all over India and around 800 research papers will be presented.
On the occasion, E-souvenir was released by the dignitaries. Among those present on the occasion included former Vice Chancellor Prof. Arun K. Grover, PU Fellows, Deans, CRIKC members Chairpersons, Faculty, Researchers and Students.
