            The third edition of Smart India Hackathon 2019 was organized by All India Council for Technical Education  (AICTE), Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), MIC, and the Government of India on 2nd-3rd March at 48 different nodal centres across the country. The team from UIET, Panjab University, HRS4, consisting of Rudransh Srivastava(Leader), Sarthak Gupta, Sarthak Prajapati, Sanskriti Goel, Himani Chopra and Shaleen Ahuja, were declared as the winner for the problem statement related to cyber security given by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA). at PSIT, Kanpur. They were awarded a prize money of Rs. 1 lakh.The solution was implemented under the able mentorship of Prof. Krishan Kumar (Co-ordinator-IT, UIET) and Ms. Raj Kumari (Asst. Professor-IT, UIET) and overall guidance of Prof. Savita Gupta (Director, UIET).

             A total of 2 lakh teams participated in the competition, 5% of which were shortlisted for the finale. The jury consisted of Mr. Upendra Singh Rawat, Joint Sec, MEA; Dr. Naveen Choudhary, Director, MEA;  and other MEA officials.
