Special drive against consuming liquor at public place was carried out at different parts of the city in which total 11 cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered.

 In continuation of a special drive against consuming liquor at public place, yesterday, the drive was carried out at different parts of the city. Under this drive total 11 different cases U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered in different police stations of Chandigarh in which total 11 persons were arrested while consuming liquor at public place. All later on bailed out. The detail of police Stations in which cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 got registered:-  PS-11= 2 cases, PS-Sarangpur= 4 cases, PS-I.T Park= 2 cases, PS-39= 3 cases.

This drive will be continuing in future, the general public is requested for not breaking the law.

One arrested for possessing illegal liquor

Chandigarh Police arrested Sonu R/o # 136, Nand Vihar, Baltana, Punjab from backside Bitta Petrol Pump, Manimajra, Chandigarh while illegally possessing 12 bottles of English wine on 03.03.2019. A case FIR No. 29, U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-Manimajra, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Action against Gambling/Satta

Chandigarh Police arrested Rakesh Kumar R/o # 191, E-Block, Phase-1, Nayagaon, Punjab while he was playing satta near Bus Stop, Sector-37/41 light point, Chandigarh on 03.03.2019. Total cash Rs. 670/- was recovered from him. In this regard, a case FIR No. 55, U/S 13A-3-67 Gambling Act has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh. Later he released on bail. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Theft

Dr. Krishan Gauba R/o # 75, Sector 24A, Chandigarh alleged that his domestic servant namely Kewal R/o Village Bhilijam, Distt. Muktsar (PB) stolen away 2000 US Dollar, 600 Canadian Dollar, 250 Euro, 350 Swiss Franc, 300 Singapore Dollar and cash about Rs. 20,000/- from his residence. A case FIR No. 34, U/S 381 IPC has been registered in PS-11, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

MV Theft

Harmooj Ali R/o # 1831, Deep Complex, Village- Hallomajra, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’s Splendor motor cycle No. CH-01BH-2738 while parked near his resident on 01.03.2019 A case FIR No. 78, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-31, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Missing/Abduction

A person resident of Village-Hallomajra, Chandigarh reported that his son age about 13 years has been missing/abducted from his resident since 02.03.2019. A case FIR No. 79, U/S 363 IPC has been registered in PS-31, Chandigarh. Later missing boy traced out.

Snatching

A lady resident of Sector-32/D, Chandigarh reported that unknown person occupant of motor cycle sped away after snatched complainant’s purse containing ATM Card, Aadhar card & 02 college ID cards from near # 3603, Sector-32/D, Chandigarh on 03.03.2019. A case FIR No. 55, U/S 356, 379 IPC has been registered in PS-34, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Lalji R/o # 3011, Maloya Colony, Chandigarh reported that 02 unknown persons occupant of motor cycle sped away after snatched complainant’s mobile phone from near Karan taxi Stand, small chowk, Sector-38 West, Chandigarh on 03.03.2019. A case FIR No. 30, U/S 356, 379, 34 IPC has been registered in PS-Maloya, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress. 

Quarrel

Sandeep @ Mani R/o # 2710, Sector-49, Chandigarh alleged that Veeru, Parveen and Vicky beaten & threatened complainant at his residence on 03.03.2019. A case FIR No. 19, U/S 323, 452, 506, 34 IPC has been registered in PS-49, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Accident

A case FIR No. 46, U/S 279, 337 IPC has been registered in PS-26, Chandigarh on the complaint of Sulesh Goswami R/o # 21, Sector-28/A, Chandigarh against driver of activa scooter No. PB-70D-3912 who sped away after hitting to complainant son namely Armaan Goswami (age-6 yrs) near his resident on 27.02.2019. Complainant’s son got injured and admitted in GMSH-16. Investigation of the case is in progress.
