Special drive against consuming liquor at public place was carried out at different parts of the city in which total 03 cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered.

 In continuation of a special drive against consuming liquor at public place, yesterday, the drive was carried out at different parts of the city. Under this drive total 03 different cases U/S 68-1(B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 IPC got registered in different police stations of Chandigarh in which total 03 persons were arrested while consuming liquor at public place. All later on bailed out. The detail of police Stations in which cases U/S 68-1 (B) Punjab Police Act 2007 & 510 got registered:-  PS-03= 1 case, PS-17= 2 cases.

This drive will be continuing in future, the general public is requested for not breaking the law.

Action against Gambling/Satta

Chandigarh Police arrested Vipin R/o # 306, Peepli Wala Town, Manimajra, Chandigarh while he was playing satta near Labour Sarai, BDC, Sector-26, Chandigarh on 26.02.2019. Total cash Rs. 1,240/- was recovered from him. In this regard, a case FIR No. 42, U/S 13A-3-67 Gambling Act has been registered in PS-26, Chandigarh. Later he released on bail. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Two arrested under NDPS Act

Crime Branch of Chandigarh Police arrested Manoj Singh R/o village-Hatho, Distt.-Jind, Haryana (age-20 yrs) near Kishangarh Chowk, Chandigarh and recovered 13.30 gram Heroin from his possession on 26.02.2019. A case FIR No. 45, U/S 21 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-I.T. Park, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Crime Branch of Chandigarh Police arrested Amit Kumar R/o Flat No. 602, Tower No. 12, Bollywood Height-1, Peer Mucchalla, Zirakpur, Punjab near Electricity Powerhouse, Kacha Rasta, Ramdarbar, Chandigarh and recovered 10 gram Kokin from his possession on 26.02.2019. A case FIR No. 76, U/S 21 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-31, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress. 

Burglary

Sarwanjit R/o # 1757, Sector-7/C, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away hand bag containing 01 gold necklace, 01 pair gold earrings, 01 gold mang tikka, 01 gold bangle, 02 wrist watch, 02 ladies suit, 01 wallet containing documents and cash Rs. 3,000/-, after breaking locks from complainant’s residence on 26.02.2019. A case FIR No. 41, U/S 380, 454 IPC has been registered in PS-26, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Theft

A lady resident of Girls hostel, DAV, Sector-10, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’s mobile phone from Leisure valley, Sector-10, Chandigarh at Babbu Mann Night Show on 24.02.2019. A case FIR No. 59, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-03, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Salamat Ali R/o # 1, Ward No.10, AKS Colony, Zirakpur, Punjab reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’s mobile phone from Leisure valley, Sector-10, Chandigarh at Babbu Mann Night Show on 24.02.2019. A case FIR No. 60, U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-03, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A lady resident of Sector-25, Chandigarh alleged that her husband & others resident of Distt.-Ludhiana, Punjab harassed complainant to bring more dowry. A case FIR No. 49, U/S 406, 498-A IPC has been registered in PS-Women, Chandigarh. Investigation of case is in progress.

A lady resident of Sector-30/A, Chandigarh alleged that her husband & others resident of Distt.-Kangra, Himachal Pradesh harassed complainant to bring more dowry. A case FIR No. 50, U/S 498-A IPC has been registered in PS-Women, Chandigarh. Investigation of case is in progress.

A lady resident of Sector-46/B, Chandigarh, alleged that her husband & others resident of Distt.-Mainpuri, Uttar Pradesh harassed complainant to bring more dowry. A case FIR No. 51, U/S 498-A IPC has been registered in PS-Women, Chandigarh. Investigation of case is in progress.

A person resident of Maloya Colony, Chandigarh, alleged that 03 persons resident of Distt.-Ludhiana, Punjab harassed complainant to bring more dowry. A case FIR No. 52, U/S 406, 498-A IPC has been registered in PS-Women, Chandigarh. Investigation of case is in progress.

MV Theft

          Sukhwinder Singh R/o 171, Sector-15, Dashmesh Nagar, Kharar, Distt.-Mohali, Punjab reported that unknown person stolen away complainant’s activa scooter No. PB-23M-6474 from parking near local bus stand, Sector-17, Chandigarh on 23.02.2019. A case FIR No. 56 U/S 379 IPC has been registered in PS-17, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Accident

A case FIR No. 33, U/S 279, 337 IPC has been registered in PS-11, Chandigarh on the complaint of Gurmeet Singh R/o village-Seonkh, SAS Nagar, Distt.-Mohali, Punjab against driver of tavera car No. PB-01B-5822 hit to motor cycle No. PB-65Y-6581 and ran away after leaving car near Bridge, Sector-11, Chandigarh on 23.02.2019. Driver of motor cycle namely Harjeet Singh R/o village-Seonkh, SAS Nagar, Distt.-Mohali, Punjab got injured and admitted in PGI, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

A case FIR No. 45, U/S 279, 337 IPC has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh on the complaint of a lady resident of Sector-38 West, Chandigarh against driver of unknown vehicle sped away after hitting to complainant’s pedestrian son near Badheri Chowk, Chandigarh on night intervening 25/26.02.2019. Complainant’s son namely Ajay Kumar got injured and admitted in PGI, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Assault

A case FIR No. 23, U/S 323, 324, 341, 506, 34 IPC has been registered in PS-19, Chandigarh on the complaint of Satish Kumar R/o Hotel Deep Palav, Village-Daria, Chandigarh who alleged that Dharminder, Gian, Pawan and Babu attacked complaint with iron rod, sticks and sharp weapon at Sector-20/21 light Point, Chandigarh on 26.02.2019. Complainant got injured and admitted in GH-16, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.
