Man held with illegal weapon

On 24.12.18, in a major breakthrough police party of PS- Maloya, Chandigarh arrested one accused namely Parmod Kumar S/o Rajpal R/o Village Kapsad, PS- Sardana, Distt. Meerut, UP, age 36 years, in case of Arms Act.

On 24.12.18, police party of PS-Maloya was on patrolling duty under Roko-Toko Abhiyan. A secret information was received that one person namely Parmod Kumar S/o Rajpal R/o Village Kapsad, Distt. Meerut, (UP) who was involved in Docaity cases registered in Himachal Pradesh and was released on parole in the said case but he did not surrender in Jail. At present, he is staying at the residence of his sister situated in Maloya Colony, Chandigarh and he is having one Revolver along with live cartridges. He is planning to commit a Docaity in Chandigarh. On this information a naka was laid and at about 5.15 PM one person seen coming from Daronacharya Mandir toward police party and he was detained by the police party. On asking he disclosed his name as Parmod Kumar S/o Rajpal R/o Village Kapsad, PS- Sardana, Distt. Meerut, UP, age 36 years and Police party recovered one country made Revolver .32 MK-IV Kanpur India 2016-9741 M along with 5 live Cartridges without any license or permit.

In this regard a Case FIR No. 243 dated 24.12.18 u/s 25/54/59 Arms Act has been registered at PS-Maloya, Chd. He will be produced before duty magistrate today and his police remand will be sought in order to know about his involvement in other crimes and from where and how he procured the said weapon and his other accomplices.
