“Know Your HIV Status –Get Tested”

Chandigarh, 3^rd December 2018: In accordance with the theme of World AIDS Day 2018, Chandigarh State AIDS Control Society had organized an HIV/AIDS awareness event on 1^st & 2^nd December at Elante Mall, Chandigarh. The objective of the event was to sensitize people from all walks of life on HIV/AIDS and to motivate them to come forward and get their HIV test done to know their HIV status.

In this two day programme more than 1000 people were sensitized about HIV/AIDS and out of these 153 people were screened for HIV. Efforts were made to make visitors aware about HIV/AIDS .A team of young volunteers involved the visitors in awareness quiz on HIV/AIDS and gave prizes.

 To reach the target 90:90:90 by 2020,that is Chandigarh State AIDS Control Society strive to ensure that  90% of people living with HIV Know their HIV status,90% of diagnosed people are put on  anti retro-viral treatment and 90% of people in treatment have fully suppressed viral load .
